I hve a tip for your pronounciation; when you say ...-서 you say it like ...-써 and because of that i kind of sounds like you say it in the past. For example 만나서, you said it like 만났어. I hope this helped you :) i loved your Video

I don't know if this will help at all, but recently I've been studying Korean every day (or at least trying to jxjsjxj) and what I've come to realize is that "traditional" studying doesn't really work?? 😂😂 I've been watching several videos (mainly from Olly Richards and Matt vs Japan) and they both agree that the best way to learn a language is by exposing yourself to it! And I can definitely agree with that. I started studying Korean back in 2017, but I barely even knew what I was doing 😂 I wasn't consistent at all, and I've been studying on and off since then. A few days ago, I decided I wanted to get back to studying Korean, because I just missed it :") But I haven't been studying like I used to (by reviewing grammar, doing Lingodeer or Duolingo lessons and writing stuff down). Instead, I've been trying to expose myself to Korean as much as possible and it's been doing wonders honestly. I feel like I've made more progress now than I did in these 4 years! The first thing I did was to change my phone's language to Korean again (I had done that in the past, but when I got tired of not understanding anything, I just changed it back to English). Then, I started searching for short stories in Korean that were appropriate for my level, and I would search up the words I didn't know (even though, I gotta say that those 2 youtubers I watched say it's better not to look up the words and instead just keep reading. According to them, the most important thing about learning through reading, is to focus on the plot, and not on the words you don't know. It might sound counterproductive and confusing at first, so I recommend watching their videos (especially Olly Richards') for more details). I also started watching a K-drama (which I had rarely done in the past), I installed a bunch of apps (Lingbe, HelloTalk and Tandem) so I would be able to practice speaking with other people and I even installed Mystic Messenger again, after years of not playing it, just so I could play the whole thing again, but in Korean. Trust me, I read the WHOLE Korean prologue out loud while I was watching a KZbin video of the English translation and it took me HOURS and I literally got nauseous and my chest hurt from reading and talking so much 😅😂 I also made flashcards of words and expressions I didn't wanna forget and I've been reviewing them every other day. TLDR: Anyway, my point is: I feel like exposing yourself to your target language in every way you can, and starting to think and live like a native speaker would, helps a lot 😂

Wow thank you so much for all of your ideas! I really appreciate it ☺️ In the past I’ve definitely exposed myself to lots of Korean, but I tended to miss out on the grammar structures, so I never spoke very well 😅 … and I still don’t speak very well haha. So I feel like I need a mix of exposure and grammar + vocabulary so that I can do better. 😊 we’ll see how things go!

@@FlamingMVkeys That can definitely help too haha, it can be good to study a bit beforehand so you have the basics down, or else you won't understand anything when you're reading for example haha 😂 앞으로 화이팅!~

I swear I could have written this. I started learning Korean in 2016 and invested in quite a few textbooks such as Ehwa, Korean Grammar in use etc. These are good resources, but it would be foolish to think that completing the Level 6 of a textbook is enough to achieve fluency in Korean. I dropped this method earlier this year and switched to the immersion technique after watching a video by Matt vs Japan. And OMG I cannot believe how much progress I have made in such a short space of time. 6 months of immersion have got me to a place where 5 years of academic-style study have never come close. I am now starting to read short novels in Korean. Needless to say my Yonsei Reading Textbooks have gone through the window!!! 😂😂😂

You are so amazing. My partner also tried to study Korean for a week. ! For a week, which was 2weeks total I think. He kept mentioning you as a motor who can help him have motivation. But he suddenly gave up at the point where he decided to stay in his country. Learning new language is good trigger for him but it just left as a thing that he does when he really needs. It was so sad. I think he did not take it seriously to learn Korean to communicate with my parents, who is Korean, and guess it actually takes a long time even if he study long time. Well. But it was for a short period time. I was sort of excited and thought he started to change but a well,,,,, it is what it is.. :) who knows.

This was great! I'm sorry you were struggling but you've got great perseverance and it was awesome you powered through it. I'm also left-handed and at 9:10, I noticed we position our hands the same way when we write. I actually hook mine a little bit more, but it's still definitely a left-handed way of writing... and cos of which, the ink always smears if it's not a quick drying pen. Ugh. Good times. 😅 I've had right-handed people ask me several times in my life "How can you write like that?" 😅 Anywho, back to your language study - hehe - I'm impressed by your Korean even at this point before you moved. What level are you at now? // Also what song was at 9:30 that made you go "Wooo"?
