How I Survived Thailand's Worst Mass Shootout | I Was There

On 8th Feb 2020, in the North-eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, a soldier shot dead his commanding officer and mother-in-law over a financial dispute. The soldier went on to steal weapons and a Humvee before driving to Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, where he continued his killing rampage. 32-year-old beauty advisor, Ratcharnon Chestnork, was there. He was trapped in an electric control room overnight, and was one of the last people to be rescued before the Thai authorities went in and took out the gunman.

I was in Korat when it happened..i was lucky the bus i was in was delayed for 30minutes. By the time i walked to the mall from the bus station, the entire city was already on lockdown and i was turned away by police from entering the mall... The entire city turned in a ghost city within the next hour with no one was wanting to venture out as there was unverified news that there were other shootings around the city...it was a difficult time as i had friends waiting for me in the mall. One of them was working in the deli in the supermarket downstair. She was shot dead by the shooter. The rest escaped. I could have been one of those unfortunate victims if my bus was on time. I count my lucky stars....

It would only make sense for the Thai people to not know whag to do. Took the US a period of time to get adapted to their new norm. Even saying that is disgusting because mass shootings are considered a norm there in the US. Isn’t that embarrassing instead? To see your country in a state of such despair where kids can’t even go to school safe because they worry a guy will come shooting at their school. I visited Terminal 21 Korat a day before this happened. I went to go to Bangkok Bank. On the day I said to myself no, I am going today and not tomorrow. Glad I did. It’s so sad cos my step mums son’s best friend from school was 1 of them that got killed. Nowadays Terminal 21 Korat has been ever so quite and not busy like it use too. The Mall Korat and Central Mall Korat has been busy I guess people don’t feel the same about Terminal 21 anymore which is such a shame.

Yesterday i went to the terminal 21 mall for the last building of vacation of 10 days with pattaya nakkon and bangkok but when i was going to my car to go home for the rest of the trip my mom said that there was a shooting in this building and also some backstory of this terminal 21 i went to there with my friend and his friend's mom and sleeped there for 1 day til my mom heard ghosts she said "this has a lot of ghosts" i went before he went to the mall with my friend when my mom said "we need to go" if we didnt listen we would die or be in the incident and died i am still having nightmares of this rn but still i am trying to go to the lore and trying to find my car to see if i was able to get out or if i almost got into the mall but went to the car my mom told me that i avoided the shooting incident i am still unknown with this incident
