Your glasses are so cute! I was wondering how you were going to make this work. Looks like a great flow for y’all. I have a friend with six kids who have done two cycles of MFW in the same year. It can be done just need to be organized. 😉 hope y’all have a fruitful year!

I just found your channel while searching for Exploration to 1850 videos. I was very curious as to why you were doing 2 separate curriculums. BUT I love that you are following your childs interests. :). We will be using Exploration to 1850 with my 7th grader and also my 3rd grader. We have used MFW in the past but had stepped way from it for a few years and now I am so excited to be back at it. My high schooler is using their Ancient History and Literature this year for 10th grade.

I haven’t used MFW, but I use the same schedule with my 4 kiddos! The littles are assisted in the morning and the older ones are independent and then they swap for the afternoon! Works great ❤️

Finding this video now months later- The exploring cultures is so pricey. What is the very bare minimum one could buy and still get the bulk of lessons?

I honestly have no idea, I'd start scouring the buy & sell pages on facebook for My Father's World to see what you can get used. That's where I'd start :)

I love that you're real! Any advice for doing MFW just 2 days a week? We plan to do 2 lessons in 1 day, focusing on bible, history, and science. We are doing this with another family and I would love any insight you might have. We'll be in Creation to Greeks with 2 3rd grade boys, 2 5th grade girls, and 1 7th grade girl. 🙃

I haven’t done any curriculum 2 days a week, but my advice would be to pull the activities you think they’d enjoy the most and focus on those. Then maybe do the read aloud at home every night.

@@mandy-maltz Thanks for your thoughts, they're just what I needed. Spacing out the read aloud and at night is a great idea!

Do you let your kids pick their curriculum every year? We are new this year. We have a 3rd grader and a kindergartener.

I let them have a hand in it for sure. I’ve found that my kids will be much more excited about learning if they are involved.

The Handmade Homeschooler - Mandy Maltz I totally agree! I let my daughter have input and then she's much happier and eager to do it.

I just received mfw first grade curriculum and both, my daughter and I, are so excited to start homeschooling this year. I might start next Monday - not sure yet.

Good luck, friend! When your kids are excited to start, it always makes that first day (and the entire year) easier.
