Craws are the hot bait for river smallmouth in my neck of the woods. Definitely have to tie a few dozen of these!

Can’t wait to try this one! Your popper and snake have served me well. I’m sure this will also.🙂 It’s important to fish with confidence, and your flies provide that! Thanks a lot Alvin. 👍👍🎣

Do you still do video's? I've been watching you a couple years. But I've not seen anything new for awhile. Maybe I'm just not seeing them?

I am, done 30 or 40 since this one came out. Make sure you are subscribed to the channel and turn on the notification bell and you should see them all. Thanks!

Appreciate everything you do and all the knowledge you share Alvin. You’re the man. I’ve been meaning to ask this for some time now but what vise is that you’re using?
@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing3 жыл бұрын
I have an old Abel vise. I think it's close to 20 years old.

Do you feel the weed guard could cause you missed strikes, or could that just be little fish that cannot get the whole thing in its mouth?
@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing3 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, some people do, my wife will cut the weed guard off.

Do you find that this fly sinks pretty well? I’ve used a couple of crawfish patterns with a lot of zonker and the zonkers seem to ‘out float’ the weight of the eyes so the fly stays on the surface.
@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing3 жыл бұрын
Once it gets wet it sinks pretty fast.

Nice Craw imitation Alvin. I would think it's a bitch to cast with a single handed rod though!!! I tie big hairy, weighted flies similar to that for Salmon/Steelhead, I'll bet this fly would be good for Trout holding in deep pockets.
