I have caught a lot of redfish on this one lately.

Alvin: the least pretentious, most real fly tyer ever. I love your flies because they aren't made to catch likes on Instagram they are made to catch fish. I'd rather be practical than fancy. Keep it up amigo.

Thanks for showing the thread break. I’m teaching my son who is now six to tie. Last night he got frustrated after breaking three times. Showing him it happens to the best of them helped his confidence immensely.

I used to get frustrated as well. Thought about taking that bit out, but I figured it would help someone. Glad it did 😊

I nick the hook point too often, even after tying thousands, and do what Alvin did, wrap a new attachment quickly over my break and keep on going.

Thanks for the tie! Might vary that up with dumbbell eyes for redfish in the marsh.

Yes sir, I usually tie a few heavier ones as well.

I like this fly! Your flies are my favorites. Especially the Popper and the Snake. (Also Bens bass Slider from Huge). I’ve caught some great fall largemouths lately on them. I like using the tan/brown back of buck tails also, it matches the bottom of lots of the rivers around here in central Tx. Thanks a lot Alvin. 👍👍 Hope you have a great Thanksgiving week. 🦃 🎣

Looks shrimpy so I'm sure it would work well for lots of different species. I'll have to add this to the box.

Do those little bead chain eyes help the hook point face upwards?
@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing Жыл бұрын
Yes they do. The wing helps as well.
@nicholasvargas1661 Жыл бұрын
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing cool thanks! I was concerned that bead chain eyes wouldn’t be heavy enough to get it hook point up.

Superb tie, excellent fly. I may use small diameter chenille instead of dubbing.

I think you could just use brown thread or yarn too. I have some great yarn that is brown with black flecks that I think will work awesome. These look like fish catching machines.

Nicely done, especially for us "non-tying" tiers. I think I could actually pull this one off and even make it look decent. BTW, I saw what you did there. Hit that 👎🏾👎🏾 2x! LMAO! 🤣🤣🤣 Hope to fish with you this year. Stay safe, be well.

Ha ha, I heard someone else use that hit it twice joke a while ago.
