I've been waking up at 5am for a few months now and it has been the best decision of my life, no joke. I have so much more energy in the day, time to do workouts and extra self-projects that I wasn't bothered to do before, and and my favourite part is the freedom to do whatever I want before leaving for school. Definitely recommend!

I agree with not getting out of bed immediately. I have an alarm that requires me to take a photo of something in my office, but I set the first alarm earlier than that and spend 10 or 15 minutes and think about my day and structuring it and setting my intention for the day. Then I get up after the second alarm

To be honest I actually tryed a lot to wake up before 5.00 because as far as I know it's very easy to study and remember the lessons at a time like morning when nobody has woke up out there so thank you so much for letting us know about these tricks. There is a *HUGE important point* that you didn't mention and that's the reason why your tips worked. Which is your internal clock! We all have one that tries to follow the sun light. How can you change it? Lights! Reduce completely the lights before your new sleep time (this means avoid phones and bright lights) and Increase the lights when you wake at 5am or 6am or whatever hour you want to start your day. With time and by changing the light schedule you change your internal clock which is responsible to give us energy during the day or to take it away when its time to rest. And don't forget, less than 7hours a night is a no go, 7-9hours always if you want to be productive!

Example: you get up at 7,30am and go to sleep at 23,30pm. Your goal is to get up at 5am. Day1: go to sleep at 23,30; get up at 7,25. Day 2 go to sleep at 23,25; get up at 7,20. ... In 12 days you get up one hour before and go to sleep one hour before. This approach lets you get up three hours in just 36 days without feeling exausted because you're asking very little effort to your body. I'm sharing this because it worked for me without using strange alarms or things like that.

Remember that the average person needs about 7-9 hours of sleep with 8 being the average. 10pm-5am is 7 hours which is not enough for many people. The younger you are, the more sleep you need. If you are younger than 30 you probably want to shoot for 8 hours.

Try splashing your face with cold water, and going outside as soon as you can after you wake up. If you drink coffee or tea in the morning, switch to decaff, take that outside and get some sunlight in your eyes, and only have your caffeine an hour and a half after waking up. Those things should help you avoid feeling so tired during the day. Caffeine blocks the production of a certain chemical that gives you your energy during the day, and direct early morning sunshine (you have to be outside, the windows block it) sets your circadian rhythm so you will feel sleepy earlier at night. If you want to learn more, go watch the Huberman Lab podcast with Andrew Huberman. He's a neurobiologist and has a lot of videos where he talks about this stuff in detail, including how and why it works. It's definitely helped me a lot.

Why do you even wake up at 1 am if yiu don't get things done
@georgeeflash

@@human-kg8nu because I still have to keep trying and what I'm working on now is to implement the 1% rule. At least that would help right?

For me..... I wake up at 5:30pm. And from Monday to Friday, I should get out of home early. Soo... I have no time to study early in the morning. What should I do?

I mean what I did that work the first day for me was going to bed at 7 or 8PM, I did wake up at like 2 but I stayed up and didn't go back to sleep then I went to bed again at 8 and woke up at 4 right away. Maybe Im just weird, but it worked for me, maybe it'll work for someone else too.
