An old friend once said to me, do you remember the last problem you had @6mth ago? I replied, no. She said well every chance you'll forget this too in 6mths! So no point in worrying just deal with it 😊. My own I use for my teenage son dealing with S#**s in school, take pity on them because it's those kids that are possibly going home to abuse and neglect, but still stand up for yourself.

I'm a firm believer in the saying "If you cant be kind, keep your mouth shut" You simply cant legislate for numpties, trolls and vitriolic jaded human beings who get their jollies trying to bring down people just cos they can. All I can say from following you pretty much since your channel started is we should never feed the trolls and your channel has allowed us to get to know you better and you're better than a negative comment. This video has been really good, James- as all your videos are and I think you have the right attitude. Thank you for the brilliant walk and for just being you. Much respect as always- Kenny

This was exactly what I needed to watch today. I have helped receiving addicts, (I'm one myself), and the teachings and recovery practise are all around gratitude, acceptance and values - doing the right thing, our powelessness over certain things and indeed 99% of what it appears Soicism is. We also have a KZbin channel with around 3K subs - the ego loves the subs; but hates the trolls - Negative comments used to really affect me! THe right way and belief is that they should not matter - It is a practise as you allude to - you have to practise veing indifferent which is hard because we have been so conditioned throughout our lives to behave in e World that largely teaches up to be all out for ourselves. Nice one James

Your vids make me homesick for UK! I've been living in Spain the last 10 years, I come to UK 4 times a year to visit family. I love my life here don't get me wrong, but seeing the English countryside tugs at the heart strings. I like the way you just show normal, uncomplicated vids, true to life. Being a sensitive person I couldn't put myself out there as you're doing, so well done at finding ways to deal with negatively. I personally think negative, critical people are in some way unhappy with their own lives and are jealous of yours ! It's quite an eye opener to me to see so many beautiful northern places! I'm a soft southerner, as my old mum used to say. She was a geordie, I'm from beautiful Berkshire originally, so she probably right lol

Focus on the 99% positive pal. There’s always doom clouds, doom mongers, negative folk that try to bring you down. “YOU” are just brilliant. A natural on camera and brilliant at what you do. The social media age has sadly given rise to the modern day troll. Faceless commentators whose natural inclination is to bully and “put down”. I think there’s a lot of envy in the mix too pal. You’ve got off you’re arse and started a really fantastic channel. Well done for doing and starting what a lot of people threaten to do but never get around too!! You are genuinely relatable and a friendly voice to others who are maybe lonely or even struggling in some way. We should never under estimate the power of our presence, of our words and of our actions. I love the videos that you do alone. You and Helen are also just beautiful too. The interaction, the banter, the down to earth nature of you both. How a genuine couple should be. Hold on to her pal she’s a keeper!! Thank you for the message and words of wisdom in this video. These words really hit home with me mate. We've had such a tough year and gone through such a lot. Lost my Nan who basically raised me, wife and I have had our fair share of problems, troubles etc and it's been hard. You're right though that when you look at things through the perspective of the limitless vastness of time and the universe then what does it matter? Spend more time in graveyards, you're right. Adversity can be so trying but ultimately you either let it make you or break you. Yes there's something masochistic about imagining the worst case scenario; I do it a lot. I also break out into a sweat far too easily, especially when anxious, even worse in this weather at the moment! But you're right, imagining losing what you've got definitely helps wake you up and makes you appreciate what you have. Thanks James this was a truly helpful video. 👍

Great conversation James, I enjoyed this. I'll have to hit my library up for some books on the subject. Thanks for the stroll through the cemetery, I'm going to try that, call out their names, I've read them but never have called them out loud. You and Helen have a great week ahead.

Sounds like I've been practicing stoicism without even knowing it was a thing. My mum always said ignore negatively and my Dad said don't let the bar stewards grind you down. Trouble is with social media is everyone gets a say and the negative comments stand out..I self deprecate to, say it yourself first funnier than them 😊 Nice walk James, I work around there and there are some beautiful places

Great Vid James, weirdly I walked almost that exact same route this morning. I’m a big fan of Stoicism philosophy and agree with pretty much everything you said. My old mum always said “take all insults as compliments “, which as a kid I didn’t really understand but as I’ve got older I know exactly what she means. I have a little saying anytime I get a negative comment on anything I say to myself “water off a ducks back”. It always makes me smile and the insult or negativity is forgotten. Good luck with the channel although I don’t think you will need it.

Thank you for that video, everyday is a school day, I live in this mindset but had no idea is was called that, I absolutely love the idea of saying out the names on the headstones, I personally adopt the idea of what others think is non of my business and as long walk my time on earth happy and not intentionally harmful I am OK with that, good luck
