How I use Oracle Cards and my other non-tarot decks

This is interesting. The fact that you pull those first 3 cards really do apply to me. I am an artist who has lived mostly in a shell. I am a scorpio, so I was always willing to please and make everyone happy well. My art has been selling often on. It sells when I apply myself and when I don't. I’ve been meaning to incorporate Oracle to mini readings I use at events to add some fun or even as a choice for those who might feel unsure/uneasy about tarot and this video totally inspired me to come up with some stuff. That's something I've thought about as well. Some people have really strong negative reactions to Tarot specifically, but are a bit more open about Oracle cards.

I use oracle cards *with* tarot cards. So if I use the oracle card first (usually only one), it helps to set the focus for the tarot reading and if it's after (often more than 1 but usually not more than 3 maybe 4), then it's usually a confirmation. Sometimes extra meaning, but 9 times out of 10 it will repeat something I've been saying and make me feel like my intuition has really been on point. (Also can do both of course) If doing a large reading I would probably go back and forth between different kinds of messegas to support each other and get more information.

I like the way you categorize out the different kinds of oracle cards, I think I might reorganize mine on the shelf by a similar schema. I realized recently that I own I think 32 oracle decks but I mostly only use them for a monthly tarot/oracle joint pull. One of my goals for 2020 is going to be able to use my oracle cards more, so I'll definitely be borrowing these ideas! It's especially a good reminder that oracle cards can be so well suited to a single-card pull, and since I haven't been engaging with any kind of cards as frequently as I'd like, something simple like this may be just what I need. I'm even tempted to do a daily draw and NOT write it down, which is kind of anathema to me, but I think the practice of opening up my spreadsheet and writing an interpretation might be blocking me from actually pulling cards and engaging with them. Feels like one of those "hey you, lean into what makes you uncomfortable!" moments :-p

Thank you so so much for this video! I have been scratching my head wondering how or if I should incorporate oracles in my practice. This was really helpful to show me a pathway. On comment or request: I love your youthful playful energy that shines through everything that you do. As an older person, in both body and soul, I would like to see some videos working with the crone/hag/swamp witch energy the other end of the cycle. Is that something you might consider doing, or is there another channel on youtube you could recommend? And finally, I can't rave enough about your Tarot with Training wheels - So great! Even though I only read for myself, i feel so much more confident with my impressions/intuition having the keywords. Well done, you!

Yes, I'm definitely finding my own practice leaning into crone wisdom these days! i'm doing a little work getting to know the Cailleach and other sacred crone energy as I am currently feeling my life transition from Mother to Crone. I actually use that deck exactly like I use the Hero's Journey Dream oracle. I thought I might work with it alongside the phases of the moon, etc but I love just pulling cards to get messages. I may start incorporating it into my full and new moon readings for an added boost as well!

This is interesting. Do you have any image-only oracle decks? The trouble I have with oracle decks are the generally oversized card format and the text/labelling that dictates what I'm meant to see in the images. That's why I love my images only John Waterhouse Oracle deck from Tarot by Seven. It is completely open to me finding my own way through intuitively interpreting the images on the cards.

Thanks for this video. It helped a lot. I purchased a oracle deck and I love it. However, I’m newly awakened and a beginner with the cards. Do I have to use two cards? Or, use a tarot and oracle card? I’m just trying to understand what I’m new. I did two one card readings for myself in two separate days and they were different, but they actually piggybacked off each other. Also, confirming messages that I had beer sensing in my spirit.
