I am coming from Etsy where everyone wrote very detailed product descriptions. I am really torn here. On Etsy the 1st part of the description is more conversational, contains keywords and is designed to get the visitor's attention.

You can write the product description to best connect with the client related to the product. Must have proper keywords. The meta description runs on different rules for Google purposes since it has a character limit until it breaks.
