I've been reading, highlighting, and note taking with sermons that I see on yt. I love study bible and can read it in spanish.im learning not to be too hard on myself. Please pray for me I've been sick since Sunday and I don't really ask for prayers but things happen. I also am trying to recite scripture. From one sister in Christ to another, I want to ask you to please do a deep dive on Transformation Church, Mike Todd, and how unbiblical their teachings and church are. You should look up "Fight for Truth Mike Todd" and also "Justin Peters Mike Todd" Justin Peters is a pastor that specializes in calling out false doctrine - and he explains everything with Scripture so everyone understands the Bible. Fight for Truth is also a protestant Christian channel that really shows what certain churches are teaching and why "pastors" like Mike Todd are in error. I love the channel, in your Christian walk I think you should expand your theological horizons and check out other pastors like Ray Comfort from Living Waters, Matthew Everhard, R.C Sproul, John MacArthur, Justin Peters, Paul Washer to name a few. If you really focus on churches like Transformation church and elevation church, you won't draw close to the Lord - please take a screenshot of this comment and research all the pastors, sister! Thanks for this video, Rebecca. See, this is what I need to watch, someone who has the kind of relationship you have with your Bible: the way you handle it, the way you talk about it; you don't just read, you explore. I used to do that, but these days, as a teacher, my approach is very different now. I deal with the commentaries, theological books, concordances, Hebrew-Greek dictionaries and word studies regularly. It would be great to regain some of what you have that I used to have. I like the simplicity of your approach to the Bible; there's nothing to get between you and it. As for your comment about being a handful, God has big hands (so to speak), so you're good.

Thanks Charles for your encouragement! I really appreciate your last sentence about God having big hands...amen 🤍 It's okay to be in different seasons...I find myself in your shoes often too. I pray you'll be able to get back into exploring and experience the joy of spending time with God in His Word. For me, I find that simplicity is usually what works best for me. When I burden myself with too many extra commentaries/books/sources/this/that/the other thing, I get overwhelmed and feel guilty when I miss a day and then I just don't read the Bible at all...it gets hard, esp in a teaching role. May the Lord encourage your spirit and help you either simplify or find a system that works better for you. Peace and blessings!

For the Bible reading plan i find it helpful to go along with a podcast that is following the same schedule. Heart Dive is a great one. You don't have to start from day 1, just join in on the current date 😊

we have this abbreviation at church to help us to reflect and study on what the Scripture is telling us. it's called S.O.A.P S for Scripture (where you write the verse that stood out for you) O for Observation which has a subheading abbreviation method called ILQ method (interst, lesson and question). under the observation, you'll be writing down why the verse or verses got you interested, the lesson that you have learned, and the questions you have about the verse. A for Application which has another subheading abbreviation method called SPACE method (sin to confess, promise to keep, attitude to change, command to obey and example to follow). below application, you'll write down your personal sins that you need to confess, the attitudes that you need to change, the command to obey that you found in the verses if it's applicable and an example of a character in the chapter that you've read, that you think is a good example to follow. and lastly...P for Prayer. here you just write down your personal prayer to God. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

I think listening to an audio Bible always helps when I'm in a reading slump...I still get the Word in! 🤍 Meditating on specific words and verses also helps me go deeper, without necessarily having to read a bunch of other books or commentaries. I haven't really read faith or spiritual books. Just devotional and lesson plans go along with the Bible. I use to watch transformation church but I had to step away from it. Find different church online

Im new in this bible journaling thing, since i was a girl i hated to read the bible, to me was something boring, but you inspired me to buy one for jounaling and studyng it even though im agnostic but i like to read about theology. Do you have a video or do you plan to make one about how to start journaling and study the bible for someone new?

I recommend "enduring word" commentary, it's really amazing :) just search your scripture and "enduring word commentary" on google. I also recommend praying that the Holy Spirit reveals GOD to you in the scriptures!
