When will people realise that people hate being bullied into purchasing something especially a bike. Your decision to leave that is admirable and you are clearly better than that. I always walk away when hard sales is applied and never go back, why don’t companies see that !

I know that salesman view. I've been asked several times why I don't work as a motorcycle salesman. (and I've been offered jobs as a salesman in other branches) But it all comes down to honesty. I can't sell a bike I know it's not for him or her. I can't make a sales speach about a product I don't use my self. Imagin selling Yamaha and the customer asks "What bike do you own?" and I have to say "KTM!" It just doesn't add up! You're doing a great job. And I recommended your channel to my daughter-in-law. She's a newbie on a KTM 390 Duke. My son rides a 690 Duke, like myself. 🙂 (mine in white!) Take care Kate!

Kate, I have spoken to you several times over the last 2 years about my come back to biking as a 65 year old male who has been absent from motor biking for 10 years due to chronic ill health. Your advice guidance and compassion for me the "person" not the profit, was and is outstanding. You gave me good meaningful advice that I could take away and consider, you never ever spoke to me in a way that was derogatory to the company you worked for, all I can say is a particular dealership have my business not because you pressured me into buying from you but because you respected me, the person buying. I have no doubt you will a success in all that you do, and to me selfishly the bikers world , if ever you start up your own training school for rusty bikers let me know. x

You hit the nail on the head with the sales thing. There many schools of thought on the subject but I have to say your approach is correct for bikes. Same ethics apply to people management. You can force people to perform or you can let them perform. 2 ways to get a result and the bean counters need to have think about it. It applies to all skill sets and industries. I've seen all sides in my 57 years. I've been self employed most of my working life in the motor trade and now in the aerospace game. I know my way works and the other way just results in high staff turnover and pissed of customers.

Hi Kate, I have recently got back on two wheels after a few years without, 8 to be more precise. I have found You Tube to be a great way to research both bikes and riding gear. Whist doing my research, I came across your channel as well as The Missenden Flyer and a few others. I have really enjoyed your content and your very personable presentation. You have asked about if there is anything that we would like to see and bikes that could be reviewed. I think it would be good to see some more second hand bikes as most people returning to riding will probably not go out and buy a new bike straight away. After doing a reasonable amount of research and test rides, I bought a BMW F800GT. This is the bike that I felt best met my brief and requirements. I have found the process very enjoyable but my own personal journey has highlighted a lot of considerations that should be thought about. Whilst there are reviews on older bikes, a lot of them were made when the bike were new and not done from the point of a second hand purchase and other bikes in a similar category that may offer different benefits. Anyway, keep up the good work and let me know what you think. Simon, Hastings, East Sussex.

Really interesting video and your income is your business, and no one else's 👍 the first part of the video made me smile about being a salesperson and people like you are are hard to find when buying a bike or a car. Now I'm older I have a very short fuse when someone tries to Bullshit me and tend to make my feelings clear, and if that doesn't work I just walk out the door and go somewhere else. Stay safe and keep up the hard work 💪 👍

Good comment. I’m that age, I can’t believe some sales people who don’t understand the buyer…….just use the same approach to everyone, I.e. talk down to you like you’re an idiot……I just walk as well. Life is too short to listen to those people.

Think your right about Williams management. I recently purchased a 1250gs from them I started with one salesman he left passed on to salesman No2 he left. I was on my third by the time I got my bike. Since then the service manager manager has left.. not good maybe they should go back to the customer care approach. Anyway love the content and happy new year.

You did well to get that far with them, I put a deposit on an r1200gsa last month. When I got to the dealership no one said a word to me or greeted me. I went down the road to triumph and had a totally different experience, me and my partner had a great time so on Tuesday I'll be receiving my new to me Tiger 1200

Kate, I for one, am very glad you took the brave decision to become a full-time motorcycle vlogger. Your comments about being self-employed with the income and spending aspects are 100% correct. Apart from a few years being a spare parts interpreter at a farm machinery dealership to bring in extra income at a time I really needed it, (and still work the 1270 acre farm in partnership with my brother) I was for 45 years, a self-employed farmer so in a similar way I know how it can be. IMHO you are very fair-minded, honest and down-to-earth in all your vlogs. Having seen vlogs featuring your dad and sister and being a Dad and Grandfather myself I reckon your family are very proud of you too. All my very best wishes to you Kate for a successful vlogging career.

Hello Kate! You are one of the reasons I am going to vlog my trip around the U.S. on my BMW R1250GS! All the money I raise through donations and from my KZbin channel will go to Veterans, Police, and Firefighters that may need a hand. You are so right about the struggle of doing it at first. I am still a bit stressed and nervous about getting enough donations to get the ride going AND have money to give to those deserving of it. I am working my tail off trying to get sponsors, and or, kit suppliers. I take motivation from you and how you have successfully navigated this space to success!! I may be 66 years old, but, doing this is a good mission for me and also keeps me young! Keep inspiring us to get out and ride Kate. Thanks, Cheers
