5:00 I much prefer the interior setup on the 991.2 over the 992. Likewise I am glad the 718 still has the 'older' interior. I'd get the GTS 4.0 anyday over the S or Base because of the glorious 4.0 flat-6. There is an option to go to the standard PASM (-20mm) vs the GTS PASM which is -30mm

I think I would be happy enough with the turbo four for the lone reason that max torque is low in the rev range.

I would go with the S model and the pdk. I drove an S model a few years back and it hauled ass! Of course if money was no object, I would go with the six cylinder.

Love my 4.0GTS manual, drove a couple of 4cyl cars that just weren’t special enough after my M2. I love the balance of the car and the 6cyl engine sounds great when you wind it up. Gearing is long, as commented by every reviewer ever, but in reality (4500 miles) I find when I want to push it it doesn’t feel wrong to me personally. I suppose it’s a little quiet 2500-3500 rpm though. Steering wheel buttons are convenient, if I’d tried them in the dark I would have put the Led lights on it as the xenons are below par. I like my Aventurine green but a younger man would probably prefer something a little livelier. Overall wonderful choice and glad I went there.

Hey Michael. Thanks for the feedback on the GTS. I'm sure it will be useful for others too reading the comments. Interested that you had the M2, I still keep looking at them. They pass me in the street and the sound just seems really good. Do you get the same from the 4.0 GTS? Is it better than the M2? I did like my 718. I only moved out of it to get money for a property. Led me back to my current 992 later.

@@Get10Yards very different, think African male lion vs puma. M2 is great and probably more exciting. Coming out of a roundabout on the throttle it’s really moving round at the back but if it’s tight it does push on a little at the front though not Audi like. M2 pulls better from really low down but the GTS is pulling better from ~30mph so when you’ve got it rolling I would say. GTS is just much more balanced through corners and feels more planted on the road. I had a 3 month break between the M2 but my son has a 240i and a ride in that last week it felt really firm where the GTS is more settled and from memory the M2 was harsher than the 235i I had before that. Steering of GTS is far superior, M2 always felt stiff as you try to go off centre. Overall to drive the GTS is just a more sophisticated package but ergonomics, control positions (cruise) and working the multimedia is easier with the M2.

@@michaelsalter2473 thanks for that info! I expected you to say the M2 would be a little tail happier as you mentioned. Had a few older BMW 3 coupes and the original 1 series coupe. Bit characteristic of those cars isn't it. Great comparison info there thank you. It's nice to hear feedback when someone has been in a few different cars in a range. I really want to see if I can get a test drive on a GTS when my car is next in the dealer. I was considering looking at an M2 second hand when the market calms down at some point. I might see if I can get drives in both in the future.

Just as I'm speccing my Boxster GTS this pops up in my recommend to watch. Wtf?? Interesting vid. Thanks. I think I'm going - gt silver, black roof, 20 inch sport wheels, manual, heated seats, air cooled seats, heated wheel, cruise control, park sensors front and rear, white speedo, rubber mats in the luggage space and I think I might add the tool kit just for fun.

Good info Steve. I would definitely go with the six cylinder GTS 4.0. Love the shark blue color, but a little pricey. My pick for a new car would be a Carrera S in gentian blue. Hope all is well. Cheers 😎

Turbo motor need the variable vein turbo IMO. Base is too unresponsive at lower RPMs. 4.0 GTS is great but expensive. On the used market there are deals on the turbo models but not so much on the 4.0 GTS

Excellent review, I still have to pay for the park distance control on the German Configurator. I totally agree the gts 4.0 is great, but then getting a 911 is still the better choice in my view.

Ah is it not added in? That’s tight. I thought rear sensors were included everywhere now. I did enjoy the jump to the 992 C2. Ive just driven a gts 4.0 and thought it was as powerfull as the c2 but they do have a different feel to them.

Im not a fan of it. I didn’t order it. It doesnt cause that much of an issue not being there. The ones I have seen with one visually don’t look right. But that’s just my opinion.

Great video. I ordered my GTS 4.0 with same options as you except I went for a manual. I noticed that on your configuration picture, when you selected the steering wheel with the control buttons on it, it shows the steering wheel in leather instead of Race-Tex. Do you know if it’s possible to keep it in Race-Tex even if you want the controls on it? And I’m curious to know what is your opinion regarding the GT steering wheel option? Would you select it or not? Thanks!

Ah cool! I would be interested to know what you think of it once it arrives! I think if I remember you could change the wheel from race-tex to leather without the buttons on the GTS interior. I don't know if you can re add the race-tex back under the race-tex dropdown once it has the buttons on. I'm sure I remember when trying to use the older configurator that you could add just the multi function and then heated but it seems now like it's heated and buttons. I wonder if it is the last of this wheel on the interiors as it also on the 918 I believe. So maybe it is all you can get now before they change the model again? I had the GT wheel on my demo car I bought from the dealer. I like the thicker design from a feel point of view. I upgraded it on my 992 when I ordered it. It doesn't look much different but I think you need to go grip a standard one and a GT and see how you feel about it.
