Hi, so glad to see that you were able to repair your MA2, mine arrived a couple of weeks ago, but the weather has prevented me from flying it. Just a heads up, I did notice that when you launch your MA2 you don't fold out the props, and it a few KZbin videos, they explain by not doing this, it can put unnecessary strain on the arms and motors. keep the videos coming. :)

good to see you got it fixed yourself, i was shit scared as it is my first drone in life ever i gave them back to DJI hongkong. It has been a horrible experience i just used 25 days after buying it & its been two months now nothing has happenned to my drone . the worst experience of my life. Also im from india, i had purchased from UAE. So first i sent UAE later than from UAE i sent to Hongkong. Dammn i have been through alot of issues with the drone. Hopefully waiting it to get fixed in next 15-20 days. Good video enjoy shooting with your mavic air 2 :)

I made the same mistake with mavic air 1, crashed while using sport mode in day light. I forgot I switched to sport mode and when trying to land the drone crashed very hard (it could be very dangerous). My lesson learned here is. DJI is a very safe drone, but it is on early stages. I used to fly FPV and I have 1000 hours of simulator training. Things like this happens :( Great video, you have a new sub!

Yeah I love to fly my Mavic Mini and my Mini 2! Great drones are they! The Mavic Air 2 is just too advanced for me hey, I don't need such an advanced drone. You are a photographer, video guy dude so for you it's probably a must for quality. Im very happy with the quality of my Mini 2 hey, it's just so awesome now that it has 2.7K 60fps - it really has become a lil beast now! I'm glad that you were able to fix your drone bro, seriously you're a legend for that hey! I'd never attempt to open up my Mavic Mini nor my Mini 2 because I have DJI Care Refresh package for them both, and I'd surely rather use that hey.. I'm not sure if you actually meant that you were relying on the bottom sensors to halt your drone when coming in at full speed landing airplane like style almost, with a low angles of attack.. The bottom sensors will only help you in C mode Cine mode or whatever its called on the Air 2.. Even in N mode coming full speed, even during the day when it's very light, I'm pretty sure you'll get the same result hey. See it takes time for the sensors to actually get the image and then process the height and all, it takes almost 1 second. That 1 second could be enough to crash the drone! I as a 3D helicopter pilot would never try what you did hey, very brave stuff, lol.. Anyway, keep well and be safe bro! Sweet 🇧🇬🌍😁🌃🛸

The reason you couldn't realise how close the sand was to the drone, was a significant FPV latency. You were seeing a clear image, but not in real-time. This is exactly why it's always good practice to land vertically... Good video, thank you!

hi :) i don't understand how did you repair just with 1 detail your dron??? what did you do with all the plastic which whas around camera? I just have a problem with GIBLE ARM, i tried to find new one, but on mavic AIR 2 they dont sell seperately gimble arm, they just sell it together with camera as one peace for 200 euro. Crashed my air 2 earlier.... small cover/clip was missing from ghe side of the gamble for the up/down axis was missing...inspecting it you would think it would work buy getting gimble stuck error/overload. I'm thinking if I remove the gimble and replace the same cable it might work or maybe I have a mechanical issue of something missing or misplaced causing it to stick

I knocked mine off the bed and the plastic part on the roll axis broke in EXACTLY the same spot and the break looks identical to yours. When you hold up the assembly, you could literally be looking at mine. This is obviously the part you glued back together, correct? I’m sure you looked online for the part, as I have done, and discovered that you can’t get just that piece alone. You have to buy the entire camera assembly instead. Which seems rather silly, but I digress.... What type of super glue did you use? Not sure if it makes a difference as they are all mostly cyanoacrylates, but I thought I’d ask and see if it has held up for subsequent flights. Thanks for the information and it’s definitely a morale booster to see someone else with the same break that saved their machine themselves.

I had the roll axis of the gimbal snap in the same way. Glued everything back together etc, but now the gimbal vibrates incessantly even when stationary. My hunch is that the crash has slightly changed the weight of the gimbal assembly (not to mention the added weight of the glue) and now the PID values used to tune the gimbal are incorrect. So now I have a resonant gimbal that makes the video all shaky :( Really don't want to buy a new gimbal housing (without the camera) because from what I've seen from taking it apart, and based on what you said yourself, replacing that camera and routing the wires through the new gimbal assembly sounds like a monumental pain in the arse. Also, I don't know whether the factory PID tuning values are tied to the drone's mainboard, or are on the gimbal PCB, so there's no guarantee that a new gimbal housing will function properly lol. I can't find any way to retune the gimbal PID values myself. FUCKS SAKE
@TechFocus3 жыл бұрын
Hmm that’s odd. I can say for a fact that a minor difference in weight along the roll axis wouldn’t cause that kind of reaction, as it didn’t when I was experimenting with the limits outside of what you see in this video. One thing that comes to mind is if the roll motor is properly secured, as when I was repairing mine - the housing was holding it but it wasn’t properly glued down, so it spun constantly and caused vibrations that seem similar to what you are describing! Try checking that to be certain! If that doesn’t work, I’d try a cable swap like I did here. With how tiny these cables are, I wouldn’t be surprised if it needs a new one fitted (maybe if you’ve already repaired the cable once, try another.) Sadly there is no way to change the gimbal PIDs for the Air 2, that’s something that’s almost hard wired into DJIs logic for this drone. And that probably won’t change any time soon, as you get simplified controls for “smoothness” and “speed” of the gimbal movement! Anyway, I hope you get back up in the air soon!
@JamalienN3 жыл бұрын
@@TechFocus Thanks for taking the time to reply to my angry rant haha. Good point. Applying finger force to the roll axis when it wasn’t broken never induced any vibrations, so ‘unbalancing’ it with glue and tiny missing plastic bits shouldn’t be an issue. Maybe it is just my lacklustre supergluing 🙏😭

Unfortunately, your video cuts away as you are starting to show (in super high speed which is certainly not effective) how the cable is routed. If you found it hard but figured it out, I guess I can’t figure out why you wouldn’t share that knowledge with others who are trying to accomplish the exact same thing. So if you are not showing us exactly how you fixed it, it seems the video becomes rather pointless. “Hey everyone, I crashed my drone…it was super hard to fix but I did it! Bet you can’t fix yours because I’m not going to show you, hahahaha!” But seriously…if routing that cable is so difficult, why not cover how it’s done? I’m hung up on it and it’s incredibly frustrating to see that people have gotten past this point, but won’t go into detail of how it’s done.
