I can vouch for the Mavic 2s ruggedness, I was filming over water without a spotter and as I increased height (was already 40 feet up) the drone went into a bunch of pine branches and totally lost it for about a second. I thought the it was a goner and foresaw it going in for the drink, it however immediately lowered altitude and stabilized itself with minor damage to the props. Am still flying with them BTW. This beast has earned my respect.

But one thing that you've missed and, in my opinion, it's also very intersting is how stable and smooth does the gimbal work after this tortures. Did something happen to the quality and smoothness of the video that Air 2 captures compared with one, when the drone was brand new?

You took it through those tests, oh my goodness. I’m sure your MA2 is seeing a therapist now saying, “I’ve been abused, beaten, water bogged, shot at, teased, and worst of all, forced to end my life. Yet, the restart button saved me. I guess I’m ok, Timex must have gone through worse.” Personally I would not do this to my MA2 but I vicariously displayed all emotions through this, including your wicked laugh. I rammed mine into the ground by accident, approaching in sport mode at full speed you really need quite some space in order to let it slow down. Only a few scratch marks and the cam was a bit out of balance but a quick calibrate fixed that and now it works as it did fresh out of the box. Really robust piece, I can confirm.

Amazing! When I first flew my new A2 last week I ran it sideways into smaller branches on a tree. It recovered and kept flying but I've been paranoid since that it might be damaged. After watching your A2 slam straight into a tree trunk in sport mode and still work!? I don't feel so bad now. 👍👍

I got this drone a week ago and crashed it yesterday. This thing is as sturdy as a tank but I crashed it into a three about 60 feet up and I swear it hit every single branch on the way down and it took it like a champ, except for the gimbal... it is flimsy as heck and the whole thing got ripped clean off. Sending it in for free warranty tomorrow.

Your lucky mine flew 3 feet backwards in sport and hit a wall and fell 2.5 foot onto decking and it’s unmarked apart from the gimbal buzzing and no longer moves, it’s had to be sent to DJI 😔
