I have a feeling the editor who showed Triangle Woman about LegalEagle's editor was like, "Hey check this out! I'm kinda surprised that she exploded that much about a common question type. Like in any creative hobby/job, it's common for people to say something like , "Hey I love this part! It was because she stayed in her lane and picked on the smaller guys like Happy Mind and baby RSlash. She reached above her paygrade this time, and the Eye of Fandom zoomed in on her so fast. If she had just Shut Her Mouth after that lame little apology regarding Legal Eagle and her "misunderstanding," she would have sunk blessedly back into the dark again leaving just a handful of disgruntled folk who remember her past shenanigans. Instead, she decides to just pointlessly drag Sad Milk, Click and Wonder into some slimy little smear campaign for . . . _"reasons?"_ Two fellows who have each their own heavy-weight channels. Boom. Right! It's easy for her to brag that "well that word was never in MY vocabulary" when she's comparing herself to a non-native speaker. How is a Swedish teenager supposed to understand the exact connotations that the R-word has, while "stupid" and "dumb" which mean pretty much the same thing are perfectly socially acceptable? Even a lot of native speakers don't really get it. And I know it's risky to say this, but her attempt to cancel him for using the N-word *in a movie quote* has the same problem. The power that word has comes entirely from American history and current American race-relations. A person from another country might understand that it's a bad word for black people but they won't immediately grasp the American culture taboo on white people saying it *in any context for any reason*. Especially while it's commonly used in media. It's really dangerous that we can just cancel people from other countries for not understanding American culture now.

Y'know, I'm not exactly surprised that Blair turned out to be this way. I started reducing my engagement with her channel after she got Casper. The way she pressed forward with getting a dog when two people in her life were deathly allergic was telling to me. She had no reason to get Casper other than 'want dog'. She could've gotten a parrot or a cat or a lizard or even a fish, but she chose the kind of animal that people she spent time with and around would suffer from. To prevent them from dying, she went on to get a puppy mill dog just so she could find one that had a safer dander for her acquaintances. She didn't need Casper. She didn't need to support a puppy mill. And for someone who claims to pour in tons of effort into research, she did a piss-poor job of investigating the dog farmer before she bought the dog; either that or she was well aware that the dog farmer was unscrupulous. Ever since then, I've been suspicious of her. I wouldn't necessarily say it feels 'good' to be proven right, but I'll certainly trust my instincts a little more after this.

The funny thing is that even with the plagiarism accusations that Hbomberguy made were legitimate, EVEN IF she had the proper citations. You can't just quote large parts of a documentary, cite it correctly and get away with plagiarism that way. It's still plagiarism if you quote large parts word for word and use citations.
@overlydramaticpanda Жыл бұрын
Nah, that's not plagiarism, it's just being lazy while writing scripts. Plagiarism is when you quote material verbatim from other sources *and* try to pass it off as your own (i.e. not citing sources). That second part is vital to what constitutes plagiarism. If you actually provide citations, you're not trying to claim the work as your own because the citation itself is an acknowledgment that someone else did the work - thus, not plagiarism. According to the terms of your definition, pretty much every single academic essay and thesis in existence will have practically dozens of examples of "plagiarism" for quoting other sources to form arguments while also correctly citing said sources...which is kind of obviously nonsense when you think about it.
@Michylawhty Жыл бұрын
@@overlydramaticpanda It's fine to quote verbatim, but not to do it as a majority of your research, which is what Blair seems to have done. Not to mention she cited it incorrectly. Blair gave an explanation of what the quotation marks were in her video with terms to citations, which was just not the correct way to cite things.

I followed The Click a while ago, I think around the formation of Sad Milk. I fell out of his content but finding out now what she did to him is insane. I never would have guessed things would end up the way they did (I had never watched Illuminaughtii before and still haven't)

It'd be so much easier and better for her to go "well, that situation sucked (for whatever reason) I'm not going to put myself in that situation again." and walk away. Can you really imagine how much s*** she could have avoided if she just did that? With Click she came after the guy's career, and I think she's going to pay for it with her own. I was a fan of her videos, I found them informative, but to find out that she doesn't practice that of what she preaches is disappointing on so many levels. She is the Regina George of KZbin IMO

"i don't know why she would lie about this" my guess is for dumb people to take her word for it. And for her fans. Some fans immediately believe the person they're following even if the creator did something wrong. Dumb people because, well, it's self explainitory. they'll believe everything, or at least half of it, and not look into it. Im by no means calling anyone who doesn't look into it dumb or anything, i know someones gonna take it like that. No, i mean if someone automatically believes something, and doesn't look into it to make sure its true. My question is this; what the hell is illunaughtii gonna do now? Continue fighting back? Or pretend nothing happened like right now? Who knows, time will tell.
