It is very very sad that you do a report on Guyana and Caribbean nations and not one mention of indentured slavery. You even say Indians migrated, Indians didn't simply just migrate to Guyana like they do to the US, UK, Australia or Canada. They were taken as slaves. Indians still don't know enough about their cousins who were taken away and this is still not part of mainstream discussion on India and Caribbean as shown in this video. Unfortunate.
@ajayn7544Күн бұрын
Most knowledgeable Indians know sir! I have met many Guyanese in New York.there is no point repeating about slavery .now it’s time to move forward.India it self was under British rule.we don’t talk it now(except on Aug 15 th)
@nitishkumarsharma6326Күн бұрын
@ajayn7544 Indians in the west know coz they run into Indians from Caribbean in the west. Indian mainstream doesn't know about it. Heck we are not even taught about it in school. When you compare how much knowledge there is of slavery of Africans, it is almost shameful that slavery of Indians is not taught in the same breath. It is for sure time to move forward and talking about past is not to hold back but to learn and teach about the atrocities our own people have gone through. It only makes us stronger

Jan 10, 2024 India has provided assistance to Guyana with several projects, including the $25 million National Cricket Stadium which was the venue for the T20 World Cup Cricket, earlier this year. India has also helped set up a Centre of Excellence in Information Technology (CEIT) in the country. India also donated medical aid and COVID vaccines to African countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bhutan India has been a major development partner for Bhutan since the country's first five-year plan in 1961. In 2023, India provided over 22 billion Indian rupees in grants and loans to Bhutan. United Nations peacekeeping India is the world's second-largest contributor to United Nations peacekeeping operations.
