Have been living here for the last 6 years. Everything said in the video is true. But, trust me, the language barrier is not that big a deal. I am at level B2 but almost rarely used German at any where I worked. The job market has been horrible here. Was having a well built up career with 7 years of experience in project management until I came here. Very rarely fo Indians get a job as a project manager or a lead. I had to work as a tester all my time in Germany and have been terminated 5 times already in 6 years. Various reasons, budget cuts, change of company structure, customer cancels the project or something or the other. The first time I ever got terminated was in Germany and its hard to understand what wrong I did. But as years passed with more terminations, you start to understand that this is how it is here. Btw, a German in the same team way less qualified than you can have a steady job and higher pay than you if you move here. I cant understand the portrayal of Germany encouraging Indians to move here to work when these are the conditions we have to endure. In my opinion, traditional engineering jobs are still available easily in Germany. I am working here since 2013 and didn't have to deal with unemployment anytime (luckily!!). A few suggestions for job seekers from my side would be: A) make an effort to learn German. Speak German even if you are not confident yet, practice helps. It is absolutely needed for the social life, outside of work. B) broaden your search from big firms to small & medium sized companies (Mittelstand). These smaller, traditionally family owned companies have been the engine for the growtj of the German economy for decades and climbing up the ladder is easier compared to big firms like Siemens, Bayer, BMW, VW, BASF etc. C) netwoking through job exhibitions (like Absolventenkongress). Works better than Linkedin in Germany IMO. Situation is not at all as bad as projected in the video, especially for engineers.

@@karankumar-yq6ep sorry to hear about your situation. But it just confirms my point. I was referring to the job market in "traditional" engineering- mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical, process. The job market in those fields are not bad at all. Across the world, and across heavy industry sectors, manufacturers still depend on German plant and machinery (not necessarily manufactured, but designed in germany at least) I don't have experience in data analysis/ software/ IT. But I reckon Germany was very late in entering the software market (SAP being the exception, may be). So market development/ market cap and subsequent employment access for potential talents will take time. Another factor is that in your sector of expertise, ther are either the "big" players or start-ups, not much in between in Germany. There is no so called "Mittelstand", as I mentioned in my OP. This might also influence chance of employnent IMO. But one point that I have to strongly disagree with you is regarding discrimination (systemic/ racial). I dont think it is there in Germany, when it comes to employment. Biases exist in every country and Germany has a language bias, as it wants to preserve its language and culture. One has to accept it or move on.

I have lived and worked in Germany for more than a decade. I think the correct meaning of the recent news has been lost in translation from german to english. I'm not sure why no one from the german side is clarifying. Maybe someone is benefitting in the end from the lie of omission. I recently saw a post on the Whatsapp Channel of the official communications from the german government that skilled professionals from India are required and there was a picture of a nurse. Germany has a shortage of nurses, bakers etc. They make a distinction between degree holders from university and those who do vocational training(ausbildung). Nursing and jobs as handymen etc come under the latter category and there is a massive gap there. Less people willing or applying to do those jobs from the current population. Automotive sector is saturated for sure. My current company is on its last legs and has emergency measures like pay cut till 2027 and some other companies have laid off people. I am pretty certain white collar jobs are not being referred to here but you are welcome to risk your career. If you do not speak good, fluent german a lot of doors are closed for you as they were for me. Now I can speak well but it is already too late to salvage my career.

It takes lot of applications to even get a call and from start of interview to get hired it takes anywhere like 2 months. 3. Interview process will mostly be technical and practical, Hence difficult to bullshit in resume. 4. The pay is also not that high enough now compared to india. Unless you work in a niche IT or research, A regular engineer starts somewhere between 50-60k euro salary. It is really difficult to earn above 100k Euro. With 50-60k euro you can hardly save 10 lakhs a year. 5. You have to pay 40% tax and it is completely worth it if you want to settle down here else it is waste. 6. More English speaking as we go south west than north east. 7. Getting into management positions is really difficult for non-germans in traditional German companies. Getting into board positions is almost impossible. 8. After war started energy prices have skyrocket. Manufacturing companies have suffered huge losses and going to China. The renewable energy like wind and solar is not good enough to stop this. 9. If you are coming for masters then getting through masters is not easy , especially you want to do it inside 4-5 semesters. Usually it takes 6-7 semesters to complete masters with an internship and secure job.

I'll say something about Germany or any European country, it's not a country of immigrants at all. It's a country of one single ethnicity/race and language and everything is theirs. If they want you out, you're out in no time. If a country is formed on ethnicity/race and language you can never go and live there unless you are married to one of those and even then your offspring won't be the same. I had so many non-Telugu speaking people who lived in Hyderabad, Secunderabad areas since 80s and their kids spoke a bit of Telugu because they were born there but they were never part of the Telugu community and they'll never be. Same for every language, race and ethnicity. It's all about race, ethnicity and language. Period!

Ultimately, they won't be issued work permits and they will receive a letter from lawyers to go home in 90 days. That's why Telangana bifurcated from Andhra even though the language was the same, it didn't matter at all. Why would it matter for someone who cannot speak Telugu. This is why Nation States in the Indian Union will someday have full autonomy. The same with all European Countries, yes including Ukraine. Can you give me the stats on Demographic breakdown in Hindi speaking countries in the Northern part of Indian Union. Almost nill. Why would someone else allow you guys into their country?

@@itsmejohnson0891 Johnson, whatever you have written will never come true. Linguistic fanaticism will not be allowed to break this country. The whole country is yours. You can live, visit and build your life anywhere. But anyone who wishes to break away the country will have no place.
@itsmejohnson0891Ай бұрын
@@asmirann3636 I never used 'break' or 'divide' although I wouldn't resist for one second if that happens. That's not the point and breaking is useless to either party. It will stay as a Union(not as a country) but Nation States will decide who will be allowed to come and work and the % Quota for foreign workers. Telangana will set that Quota to 0% at one point. It has no obligation to take anyone. There is a reason why countries are formed inside the Union. Your argument is nothing but vaccum inside it, the reality is there is no Unity, there has never been Unity since the creation of Indian Union and there will never be Unity. Simply because of 30 odd languages. Brexit happened for a reason. Swiss did not join EU for a reason. You cannot bullsh*t your way out of any of this. Nation States must create their own jobs and their people must stay there. Living in other states as a tourist for unlimited time with multiple entries is fine and establishing small and medium business is fine under allowed quota, else even that won't happen. German people are good in English, so in general it is not that bad one imagine. Germany offers lower salary compared to USA, that is a negative. But job security and work life balance is better. Each EU country have it's own unique language and culture which they have managed to preserve even after 2 WW, irony is most Indians who have been flocking to Germany (thanks to way easier immigration policies when compared to other developed English speaking countries) are unaware of the fact that it was Turkish immigrants who played a major role in rebuilding Germany post WW2. Guess what even those Turkish immigrants are no longer reproducing that well hence the whole country's fertility rate is going down the hill. One must understand if immigrants who rebuild Germany are no longer reproducing that means there must be something fundamentally flawed in that system. Taxes are outrageous, cost of living has shot up like anything since Russia-Ukraine conflict started, they let in way too many refugees and now trying to deport most of them, the last point has been major catalyst to bring ultra right wing parties into the power who are gonna makes things far more stricter even for legal immigrants, last but not least; rise of AI/ML is going to be THE biggest factor behind ever increasing uncertainty, so much so that no job would be spared which can not be replaced by ever evolving AI/ML.

Hi, not indian here but with many friends from different parts of India working in IT. This is just my personal opinion. In the long term, when compared to many other countries, where is the advantage of working in Germany? I have seen many of them changing the country for this very reason. All the difficult listed above, the weather, the type of society and the language that EVEN when you my friend, end up learning, so what? what can do with it? "talk to locals"? Talk what? More than talking here and there, the sense that life has being lived and not existed only is what ultimately makes a difference. Some countries just offer more flexibility and a sense of freedom. Imo, in Germany, if you start working somewhere other than our area, as soon as you try for a job they will say you don't have long term stable working experience. Even for germans, one of the worst thing one can do is to work in something else than their desired job/profession, just to be given fewer opportunities. Finally, when you move out of your country your first mentality is "I can make it" and this blinds people too. Realistic approach is also important. Of course, many say " I go first there then move again ...." just saying, that Germany s market is just extremely selective towards white-collar and even for blue-collars.

Biggest problem in Germany is that you will never be given the responsibility no matter how much experience you have and how little experience the Germans you are working with have. Germans have a way of doing things and they will not let anyone change that no matter what. Even if factories close down and their companies shut down, they will keep doing exactly what they have been programmed to do.

I see atleast 3-5 posts a week in the facebook page "Indians in germany" about people getting fired without proper reason. They have just 6 months to find a new job which they definitely wont get because the germany government bureaucracy is the worst. To get a reply for an email you have to wait for 1 month. To get somebody to act on something it takes 6 months. Fucking terrible. Think twice before coming here as an engineer.
@genzingermany29 күн бұрын
So I have been in Germany more than 6 months and the currently the job market is okish. Although learning German till B2 from India will definitely get you good jobs in Germany. You may be having good skills but if you don't know German you are worthless here. People planning for higher education, please learn German at least till a conversational level so you have easy opportunities to crack a job.

@@Screen_RealmFrankly saying no one gives f about which university you graduated. From my experience, I suggest you join Hochschule, you can graduate sooner, less stress and overload compared to Unis.. Moreover chances of job is much better if you graduated from Hochschule..
