This is the real reason why everybody’s flaming Busy in the comment section. truth is the industry’s been aware of melodyne for quite sometime but unless you have the technical know how along with the capital ($$$) then you wouldn’t be able to use them the way shown here. These tools aren’t even directly for this type of production recreation, they’re mainly for manipulating live audio like vocals & instruments. This new form of interpolation just came as a benefit from these programs. I will say this method helped me understand scales & note progression alot better.

@6Sparx9

You realize this takes like 10 to 30 minutes to do once you have the process down, depending on the RX stage and it doesn't sap your creativity or ear /eye fatigue. It's barely different from customizing your DAWs template before starting a new project.

That takes waaaaay too long. Nobody would do that. Takes less than ten seconds to just write out the midi - either step time into the piano roll, or just play it straight in on a keyboard. No "master" needs to (or has the time to) do it this way

This is a cool video from the stand point that you can do that with just a daw and plug-ins. However, training your ear to do this is probably more functional useful because if you think of a sound and a melody in your head. Then you get that on your daw and create art easier, then taking shots in the dark how to make the sound you want. This video is still cool though

Well actually sometimes they do this mainly because the AI can pick up some sounds you can’t normally hear unless it’s split. Personally I do this sometimes to get stuff exactly correct, but most of the time I don’t have to because I am very well trained in the ear. Some people also do this since they aren’t that trained in the ear so this does help a bit too.

Eh i would Guess that if we are talking about music production pros they would just figure It out listening to it and playing along on the keyboard because they have experience in music theory. Again, im talking about profesionals, not hobbists or artists, a producer who doesnt know his basic music theory is rather useless in a profesional environment. Do you agree?

I'm going to put you guys on some game here, if you do not have melodyne you can use newtone which is an FL stock plugin. It will do the same thing. If you want a free way that isn't quite as powerful as isotope RX but still gets the job done, you download virtual DJ and remove the various stems through the tools there, record, and export. If that helped ya out tap in and show some love on one of my beats, cuz those are some expensive plugins and I just saved you some money for almost the same sauce.
