After seeing the Monster in his second fight against Donaire I realized he had taken a step up to a point where he would have no problem with Stephen Fulton. I could tell he was truly a top five boxer in the world before that fight even happened. I was completely not surprised by the result. Yes the improvement was noticeable after the first DONAIRE fight. I think he was pushed in that fight, and he carried on with that. Of course all dedicated professionals always work on improving, I’m talking about more than that. I made note of something he said after the DONAIRE fight, that motivation to push for higher levels was important . And you can see that in each successive bout. When he got knocked down in the Nery fight, it appeared that he was prepared for it, and processed it and came back strong and strategically. I enjoy watching Inoue compete because of his pushing to get better.

@@peterparsons7141 I think that some people thought that he might have been overrated because of how tough that first fight was but what people didn't realize is that Donaire was far from being washed. By the time the second fight happened the Monster was truly one of the best boxers in the world and just tore him up. He doesn't win fights now he dominates fights. Not a lot of people will notice it but his footwork is exceptional and he is probably one of the best boxers to cut the ring off and walk someone down. Early in the match he was very aware of Fulton stepping on his toes when he signals it to the ref and he never over-commits when he walks someone down because it's not common to see him get into clinches. Meanwhile, his brother Takuma uses the philly shell a lot and loves to tie up his arms and clinch when he's on the ropes.

I think he is nearing his max when it comes to the weight classes. Just the weight class above his current one I think there are two champions who are 6th tall or nearly 6ft tall and lanky reach. I’m not saying inoue can’t move up from current weight I just don’t think he would go after undisputed in his next weight classes about his current. maybe he cherry picks champions with better matchups for him and continue to move up maybe 1 or 2 more weight classes then go back down like Canelo and just be the king of his preferred weight class

Inoue's footwork is reminiscent of Roger Federer's, maintaining a perfectly balanced stance while making quick, small steps to move. I've said it many times it's because inoue went to learn from freddie Roach about how to deal with American slick philly shells and how to use it himself. After Training with Roach, inoue became a much more complete Boxer, often putting his hands down to incorporate the slick style. This is what Bivol should do or he will get exposed one day for being too one dimensional

@@BoxingLife I get what you are saying but it's not the same thing. Bivol puts his lead hand down still to gauge distance and throw jabs or looping left hooks. It's just to relax the arms not another style. He doesn't put his hand down to shoulder roll or do head movements. Inoue puts his hands down to go into the slick American style sometimes. The problem with Bivol is he can only throw 123s in one style.
