200 hundred or so of these guys have just been put into a summer camp near my little village, with tennis courts and basketball courts, even a little communal pool. They walk in small groups along the roads within a 2 mile radius, day and night, some on little scooters, no lights, no bright clothing, you cant see them, and police lights are often seen hurtling up to the building. Leo Vardakar and Michael Martin seem to have caught onto the band waggon of Tony Blair and Angela Merkel and simply opened the flood gates to see what would happen. In order to free up hotel space in and around Dublin the migrants/ asylum seekers were removed from the large airport hotels and hotel convention centers. Moved to smaller towns and cities in the western, high tourism areas. Consequently (who thinks of consequences?) it made the tourism reliant areas a wasteland. No available hotel space, the related high demand for social services- which is not a factor for Yankee tourists … BUT! … the law of unintended consequences came about. The migrants don’t eat out, don’t go to the pubs, no car rentals, don’t hire local tours so zero ‘trickle down’ money into the local economy. Zero. They will pool their money and once a week Über to a Tesco and load up with food. Not even a Euro spent in the local Spar store.
