Very fascinating! I've always found 3D animation a harder to wrap my head around than simple frame by frame 2D animation since with 3D there's so many different ways it can be approached. Anytime I see a show/movie animated in 3D I'm always really curious about what their specific process was like, so this was very enlightening! Awesome video!

The incredible complexity you go through to make each vídeo really pays off! The animation style is so incredible that I didn't imagine how you used so many programs to create it! It's an amazing work, really! I don't know if anyone mentioned Blender (I'm sure someone already has) but you can merge most of your workflow there, with 3d and 2d being a great part of it! I believe you could even import some of those already made drawings inside blender. I don't wanna be the Blendohva's witness here but, anything that can help you spend less time making these is going to help, right? Talk with Chris O'Neal about it. He's been using it a lot, and surely would help you. :) That was awesome Max, thank you for making this series!

Honestly, this is actually genus to get animation done. Especially with Maya (I have been using it for about two years now - college classes, and currently working on a short film for a final where we're using Maya to make everything), and I have always struggled with making my animation look decent. I remember when I was at a block of flats, I went upstairs to sit in bed because I was bored. I was lying in bed listening to lofi until I decided to look at out the window. I sat there looking out, Houses, paths with cracks in them, small puddles and the orange lights contrasting with the blue of the night. I evenutally turned to this video and I watched that view for hours listening to this video. The music in the back, the talking. I guess the idea is to give people a chance to be one of the first viewers and commenters. In contrast, if he had published it at say 2pm Eastern time today, then some lucky people who happen not to be busy will see the video right away, while others have to wait for school, work, or other things to finish.

Interesting to see how it all comes together. As someone who knows enough to know how the programs work but not enough to make anything of it, watching this make the whole thing feel both easier and harder but a LOT more approachable overall. Also, I don't mind the story arc taking forever. Just don't make it a cop-out ending.
