I’m so happy to find your videos! I live in both Cali and Colorado and love Southwest Airlines! BUT just a heads up, if you don’t mind no-frills travel, Frontier is usually way cheaper AND right now you can get an unlimited annual flights pass for $599! And they fly all over the country and to the Caribbean!🍹

Super helpful man, thanks so much for these videos! I'm a former EMT of 5+ years looking into doing the BSN program. The waitlists here in CA are insane for RN programs, so this program looks amazing. Also, is it hard to get a job in California after doing this program? Do people take it seriously?

@@nursefosterHelps a lot! Is it hard to get a job in California after doing this program? Like do employers see that you did an online program and not take it seriously?

What do you recommend bringing to clinicals?

Hi! I'm currently in the process of applying for the fall semester at Nightingale. Your videos are really helpful, so thank you. Every semester is 16 weeks long, correct? And from what I'm understanding, you only travel for clinical for 4-5 days total per semester?
@nursefoster3 ай бұрын
Yes each semester is 16 weeks. The last clinical which is preceptorship is the long one where you complete about 120hours which could be 10 12 hour shifts or 15 days depends on nurse.

Thank you for the video. I live in San Diego, California, and I'm interested in the Nightingale RN program, which lasts for 16 months. This school is one of the options on my list. However, I am concerned about having to travel to clinical sites. I don't want to travel by flight due to my fear of flying with motional sickness. So, I wanted to know which specific state I would have to travel to for clinical? Also, what about the NCLEX exam? After completing the program, would I be able to take the exam and get a license in California? Does the school accept transfer credit units from California? I have completed all the prerequisites and have a Bachelor of Health Science. Currently, I am working part-time at a skilled nursing facility under a CNA license. I am worried about obtaining the state's approval for a license.

How long ahead of time do you find out the dates of when you’re going? Do they give you months notice?

One month and it may not be a hospital.

Sorry if I missed it but how often do you have clinicals and does Nightingale always stack them together (per semester) to make travel easier for all students or just the ones that are not in one of their states? (I plan to get in touch with them but it’s 1am and I can’t wait 😂). Thanks in advance and best wishes on your journey!

Clinicals is once a semester. A semester is about 4 months. They try to give you a months notice in advance to where you will be traveling to. For local learners in Utah or other states you might have a clinical nearby so it’s all random where they place you.
@sibbssukue82054 ай бұрын
Hi, @@nursefoster, so each and every semester you'll travel for clinicals or only one semester has clinicals?

How should we prepare for Clinicals? I learn by hands on and you know that we do SIMS so I’m kinda unsure about Clinicals because I do not want to go and be like I don’t know anything.

Review on med surg meds ( cardiac, GI, renal, blood thinners, pain, etc,). For clinical skills and med pass be proactive each day to watch videos and ask questions on how to do something. During clinicals you will get opportunities to do skills and nursing care you just have to be proactive and want to learn. Also, remember that every great nurse was once like you and did not know what they know now. It’s okay to not know everything right now just have the will to learn and be a sponge to absorb all the knowledge overtime.

I remember my first clinicals as a CNA in 2019 I didn’t know how to clean a patient or how to work the bed controls. A couple months after working as a CNA I learned a few tricks about basics of nursing and now I’m better than I was before. Give it time and learn each day.

I have heard mixed reviews but I am curious your perspective… is it possible to work full time during this program?
@nursefoster4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Yes it is possible to work full time during this BSN program. I’ve seen classmates work 40 hours a week or more and have a family to care for. Nightingale is very flexible with different online meeting times. As well as having assignments due every Sunday gives you time to work at your own pace. Working full time or having more responsibilities in your life such as a family to care for will make it a little more challenging but it is possible.

I have a question, is it possible to finish classes sooner like wgu type of schooling
@nursefoster4 ай бұрын
@@starseedkitty5371 from my understanding you must send in transcripts with completed course grades when enrolling for nightingale. So you can take classes at wgu or other online colleges but just have them completed before applying to nightingale. You can also talk with admission advisor for more details on pre reqs.

How many times do you have to travel?
@nursefoster3 ай бұрын
Once a semester for BSN 225, 246 , 266, 346, 366, 395. If you miss a day you have to travel again for however many days you missed so try not to be late or miss clinical.

How do you learn to start an IV and things like that?
@nursefoster3 ай бұрын
The school provides equipment to practice skills where you are assessed through. Also in clinical you may get the chance to practice skills as well.
@Lovebk983 ай бұрын
ER clinical is best to practice your IV insertion. OR if you are already LPN you can get Iv certification through hands on training by paying which is less than 400$
