I appreciate your videos SO much! I quit my corporate job 2 years ago and struggled (still struggle) with the lack of support from family and having to follow the "status quo" just to please them as well as the rest of society. It is hard, but so worth it to keep going! I am in the process of starting a youtube channel myself and you give me inspiration! Keep going, you're doing amazing & thank you!

I got a copyright claim so I needed to trim the outro... here is the message I wanted to say in the end 📚✨ am I still happy with the decision? YES! am I gonna have the same answer in 5 years? I don't know. but all I can do is to enjoy the path I chose and do my best to make my dream come true :) Thank you so much for watching

As a new subscriber to your channel, I want to say thank you for making these videos. I am a Chinese who lived in Japan for my early 20s and moved to UK at your age ten years ago. I totally understand the challenge and feelings you’re experiencing in Japanese society. Recently I am also hesitating to make a big decision that whether take a work offer from Japan that I am not so into it, or start to do what I love after sending my daughter to nursery. Your videos gave me lots of inspiration and reflection. ❤ありがとうございます(btw, the “pathless path” is also an interpretation for the inner seekers who seek for the ultimate truth (Enlightenment) of the universe and our lives)

I also quit my high paying job 9-5 job last year, my parents supported me and advised me to quit. I thanked God for giving me the courage to quit. Even if my salary on that job doubles or triples, I wouldn't go back. I am happy now having a low paying job but gives me opportunity to be with my family everyday.

It feels like job in Japan (and probobly in other parts of Asia) consumes most of the lifetime. After watching a few vids about Japan it seems like usual schedule is from 30 min before work start until Boss leaves... I understand why people are breaking. Mako, I really like your life-hacks. Some of these I used from child. I think these good habbits lead not only to independence from society's opinion about you, but also to decreased expenses. If we stop chasing big buck in order to pay all the bills for fancy appartment and cloth, we will have more time to ourselves. Keep up the good job. Discover yourself. One day it will click.

I am also contemplating early retirement and finding ways to minimize unnecessary spending and maximizing life. I am thinking of life in the Caribbean seaside :) as my family lives there: no car, just a happy, simple life. Now, what to do with my fit for a movie star wardrobe accumulated over the years!?!! 😅 and my books and perfume collection!

Hii.. just stopping by to say that you're doing enough.. choosing for yourself over homogeneity is the best choice✨❤️.. you will find something that works with your convience and your lifestyle:) (no rush!! 🍀🍀) These days corporate life is the only way all of us are left with. This economy!! and this non-accepting society is leaving corporate life as the only option (in the first place) ... It's very hard to choose something entirely different.. but it's worth it ❤️✨ I have read about some Japanese saying (please correct me if I am wrong but), "when you start to work (are employed) then you're considered to be a part of the society" (tf!?!) That's definitely not it!?! Working 9-5 isn't the definition of working and being employed!! Mako, homogeneity is nothing but bad.. all of us are going through it, you're not alone❤️this will pass.. you're doing great.. we all love your videos❤❤.. Lots of love 💕 (I hope i haven't crossed the lines 😅)

thank you so so much for your comment ❤Japan is definitely a very conservative society, and I'm so happy that I was able to find a community of people who don't care about the "normal life." I hope I can deliver more videos that you will enjoy like this :) thank you so much again, it means a lot for me✨
