How is the autofocus on the Z CAM E2 M4?

I’m using Z Cam E2-M4 with 16mm sigma lens, the AF definitely is too inconsistent and unpredictable. However there are a few more settings available in the Z CAM app to adjust the sensitivity and speed, I’ve yet to play with that. The A/B focus mode works great with the app though!

With the EF adapter, AF doesn't seem to work at all. I have a Sigma 60-600 and AF is impossible at an FL aperture combo. Would be nice. Hopefully next gen will have dual pixel. Can't have everything in one camera 😄

Using a zcam e2 with a sigma 16mm, got to test it out finally this week. All i can say is, ohhhh yeah, auto focus is not... reliable.

@@LottacamStudio The chromatic aberration is definitely notable. From watching a ton of videos beforehand, i thought the len’s autofocus capabilities were mainly factored by the lens itself. I had not considered the actual zcam being the issue. The AF, is definitely challenging, i’ve taken it out about two/three times and have realized i’d pretty much have to keep my thumb on the OK button if i’m using AF. I recently built my whole set up for a big video months in advance tho, so definitely just have practice practice practice!

With it being more of a cinema camera most cinematographers shoot manual I would assume

Not so. Focus tracking become's a staple when a camera supports it. Canon XF605 AF is primary and excellent!

Does the Autofocus work with EF lenses or just MFT's lenses?

Hey thanks for watching! At the moment i use the zcam ef mount active lock with the sigma 18-35 and autofocus works. But lately i don't use autofocus anymore. It messed up some important shots for me so i only focus manual now.

@@LottacamStudio , That's what we bought. When in the studio tomorrow I'll take a look. We have a ton of Canon EF prime lenses we want to use.

I think probably not. I have the EF adapter for a Sigma EF lens and no usable AF at all.

@@LottacamStudio I found it a bit confusing watching a video regarding autofocus. I was wiping mi eyes thinking something is wrong with them as the 4K kicked in. There's nothing more annoying putting all that effort in into making something and the findings out that your gear had failed you.
