I first noticed his analysis before the Ukraine War began. He predicted that the Russia would invade Ukraine, and in a big way, not a little nibble like Crimea. I thought he was wrong as such war made no sense to me. When the war began, he predicted that it was going to be a closer fight than most analysts believed. Russia will not trample Ukraine in a matter of days or weeks. Again, I thought he was wrong. And then he predicted that Russia would withdraw and focus on the East. That cannot be right, I thought. And then he predicted that the Kherson would be taken back. By this time, I stopped doubting him. He is one of the best military analysist out there.

Finally a new video! Anders is by far the commentator that I trust most on Ukraine war matters. My personal assessment for Bakhmut was that if you have an opponent that will not stop and you have a battlefield where the kill ratio is 7:1 in your favor, you have to keep that battlefield for as long as possible. Aligns with what Anders says, I think. Edit: After so many comments, I must admit that no one knows the actual kill ratio right now and it is all propaganda from both sides. The number of 7:1 came from an analysis of a certain Wagner attack in January or February that I cannot find anymore. I should not have brought these numbers up, as I do not have any source. That said, at this point, no one in the replies to my comment has given any source either... I still think that usually, the position of a defender in urban warfare will be advantageous, so I do estimate that the kill ratio is in Ukraines favor. We will only ever know when these events have become history.

@@kristianjensen5877 You would think so, but no. The US/NATO/Kiev regime knows, that once Bakhmut falls, it will be an absolute PR nightmare for them, considering the MSM perpetual Orwellian march of the Ukrainian army from one victory to the next. That scares them more, than any losses in manpower, as the lives of their soldiers mean very little to those psychopaths. The kill ratio is in Russia's favour and it only makes sense, as they still have a considerable firepower advantage. There are interviews of Ukrainian soldiers saying, that the life span of an average infantryman is about 4 hours on the Bakhmut frontline. But the fear of bad PR is why they are throwing the best of everything they have in a desperate bid to hold Bakhmut just a bit longer, while the MSM is starting to lay the ground work for damage control, such as "Bakhmut wasn't really that important anyway".

The story of this war reminds me often of King Croesus asking the Pythia at the oracle of Delphi in ancient Greece about whether he should launch an attack against his neighbor, the Persian Empire. The Pythia responded by telling Croesus that if he attacked the Persians, he would destroy a great empire. Encouraged by this response, Croesus launched an attack against the Persians, but he was ultimately defeated and his own kingdom was destroyed. I don't know whom Putin asked but maybe he should not have listened.

Russian superiority in men, equipment, air power, and especially artillery ammunition will be decisive in late spring and early summer when mobile warfare becomes tenable on dry ground. One that happens, the war will be over in short order. Too bad the Biden Administration and the globalist cabal put their puppet Zalensky in charge. He was installed by the CIA to make sure western elites could keep pilfering the country. This propaganda is really sad.

Another parameter that is to be taken into account is: THE WEATHER. It turns out that the winter is pretty mild which brings about a stalemate. It has been roughly so for many months. We should remember all the predictions that occurred 6 months ago: a decisive tank battle amidst a deep frozen landescape. Nontheless, this General 'Winter' did not reared its head. As a result: the belligerants have been bogged down and Ukraine turned this quagmire into a profit. It should be noted that Russia endeavored mightly to crushed the Ukrainian lines but to no avail. It is down to (partially at the very least) this weather condition that precluded Russian army (Wagner proxy incl.) from deploying a swift full-scale assault on the Ukrainian positions. My 2 cents.
@alainlefebvre9860
@alainlefebvre9860 Жыл бұрын
Maybe. Or the Russians simply use "the weather" as an excuse to explain their repeated failures. They have performed literally hundreds of attacks over winter, to no avail. They got their forces to the front, so the weather wasn't THAT bad. What was bad was their planning, logistics, and overconfidence. They thought Ukrainians would back down and easily tick a box in Bakhmut. Instead, they ticked tens of thousands of ⚰️ boxes and lost hundreds if not thousands of vehicles.

@@barthoving2053 I should disagree with you. Yes there were some period of frozen ground but no, these period were quite short. Suppose that the Ukrainan army launched a large-scaled assault and then 10 days later, it would be stucked in the mud. It would be a sitting duck. This would be what the Ukrainian army do with the Russian Army in April 2022, but this isthe opposite.

@@dunodolien674 From the Ukraine point of view yes. Altough they might not been ready regardless of the weather.. But from the Russians you cannot deny they tried to force breakthoughs and failed at it. And that was not because they bogged down after initial succes

My understanding is that they have slowly been falling back into the high rises, and letting Russia capture streets of rubble for high losses (they're even mining buildings, retreating some, and blowing them once Russia 'takes' them). The flanks of the city UAF controls are in relative high ground so to surround the city, Russia has to 1. take higher ground 2. advance into lower ground, that will still be honed in by UA arty. Bahkmut is also a bit of a strategic intersections of the main east-west highways in the country.

You have a very good grasp on things and really enjoy your work. Please keep it up. My question is will we reach a point where we start to see units really "Breaking" on a large scale. It would not be beyond the pail yet very rare on the modern battlefield. But this is a strange war with a lot of people that are not solders fighting in very bad conditions.

I'm sorry I'm watching 10 days late Oddly enough, not much has changed on the lines. We have learned since of the existence of a tunnel from Chasiv Yar to Bakhmut. I'm uncertain that there are better positions to be had moving west from Bakhmut, at least from the persprctive of immediate opportunities to delete Russians in the thousands. This also provides an opportunity to rotate in new troops for their first battle experiences. All of this is within a relatively contained theater in which Ukraine can relatively easily accomplish several objectives.
