Actually we can't say how much faster it is judging by this result. He was cpu bound on steam, and on battle net the fps is a lot higher but there is a gpu bottleneck now, so cpu could possibly deliver even more fps.

Isn't the steam version bugged with regards its proximity audio still? It was like this in the past also, and many players have reported it with this new version, especially with the steam version. To "Fix" it, go to Settings -> Audio -> Voice Chat -> and put Game Voice Channel to Party Only, after that turn Voice Chat off! (This is obviously not a fix, but is a workaround) Other have had success with disabling resizable BAR, but its hard to know if thats legit, as the gains are not as large as reported from the first "fix". (For context, MW3 era WZ also ran better on may systems with rebar disabled)

i had this same problem with God of War on steam. It was literally unplayable constant stutters and some times freezing and dropping to 0 frames. Bought it on epic and played without any problems. I've never had that problem with steam before. I was running a 4070 ti super at the time.

Because most people with an RTX 4090 will be using 4K displays. You can't compare 1440p with 4K and then assume you made a better purchasing decision, because the RTX 4090 will significantly outperform the 7800 XT at the same resolution.

Hi Kryzzp hope u read this. There is a setting in the nvidia control panel its called the shader cache size something like that. I disabled it completely. i used to have it set to 100GB but now its disabled and i noticed big imrovements. I want u to try it lol. do it on your own or something. it still installes the shaders for some reason tho. so idk. i like to keep it off now. just try it on your own time. or not up to u.

You should not disable this unless absolutely necessary. Also 100Gb is pointless waste of space if eventually gets all filled up, set it to max 10Gb but only if you play a lot of games.

Not sure if this is the issue here (doesn't really seem like it since CPU usage is also much higher on Battle Net which wouldn't happen with Frame Gen) but there's a bug where FSR Frame Gen secretly enables by default (happened to me and many others) and obviously boosts frame rates by quite a bit. You have to go to campaign, enable FSR upscaling and then Frame Gen appears toggled on, and it does affect the other modes even though it's only in the campaign.

I remember when overwatch 2 came to steam, I swapped over to it for like a month and a half because I just wanted to track the hours on game. I randomly went back to bnet launcher and was SHOCKED at how much smoother it felt. I don't keep my fps on since i get well over 400+ all the time so I can't say for sure if Steam lowered it or just had worse 1% lows but playing on a 360hz monitor I could just tell instantly how much better bnet felt

Shot in the dark here; check if steam is recording the gameplay in the background, they recently added that to steam. not sure what the default settings are but perhaps also encoding said recording on the CPU rather than GPU.

It’s not on by default. But I will also say I’ve tested it a lot and only get around 5-10 fps difference with a 3080 10gb and 7800x3d with the bit rate at the highest available. No noticeable difference over shadowplay from my testing.

the reason for high cpu usage is because fsr frame gen is on by default on the game to turn it off you have to edit the config file in mw3 when having it enabled it had both gpu and cpu maxed out instead of gpu mainly being maxed or if on a weaker gpu cpu being maxed out reason for steams performance could be steam pulling recourses or that call of duty is not optimized well on it

yeah i thought what the hecks happening, ofcourse being steam player i noticed this from day one of BO6 WZ integration, and felt that something was off, cuz with my setup(14700KF, 7600ram, RX6800XT) i was getting at WZ3 like 220-260 fps at 1440p comp settings and GPU util at 99% nearly all the time, in fact i even had an cpu ms overhead at all times being usually 1-2ms faster at render time than gpu render time, and in this fuckery mess i was getting like 160-190 tops, i was very upset about this but just couple hours earlier i downloaded battlenet and whoala, literally even 20 fps more than in WZ3, what the heck man. I just cannot fathom how this goes throught testing...

Most likely caused by the overlay somehow messing performance up. On another note 4K seems to have poor optimization/compatibility so this only seems to be and issue on 4K only at least for me. You should have tested 1440p also. got 4090 and 14900k intel optimized running on xbox game pass without overlay, I noticed that for some reason 4k in Warzone and resurgence was fluctuating/incosistent after the integration. Dropping resolution to 1440p completely resolved the problem, pretty much consistant +200fps and game runs smoothly. Summary: If you have a high end rig a quick fix is likely to drop resolution to 1440p

I confirm. I play Dine Light 1 and 2, and in the Steam version Dine Light 1 is 140-160, on the pirate version it’s over 220; in Dine Light 2 it’s exactly the same - there are fewer frames than on the pirate version
