A very short glimpse at what you can expect when visiting train street in Hanoi! The train is so close to where you sit and they do not slow down! #travel #vietnam #hanoi #train

It is completely against rail roads and vehicle roads codes of Vietnam, but they still let it slide because over the time it has been a small culture attraction of the city.

All across Asia have trains running a few meters from residential houses. Mumbai has it, Manila has it etc, just that in Thailand and Vietnam they have managed to make it a tourist attraction by placing markets and restaurants 😊

Nice and neat and clean. Trains like this run in the Philippines also - but they are no tourist attraction with people waiting with cameras - no, it's full on and watch out.

Are you living in the Phillipines Dave ? We are planning on coming there soon!

There were more trains in the Philippines, but the presidents - puppets of USA, destroyed most of the railways. Now mostly it's only memories drown in jungles

And how do all these people know about the train approaching? There's no too much time to dodge if you're on its way, it's moving fast.
@EmmieandPaul Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can only access it from certain sections and they have people there most of the time. There’s only a few trains every day so it’s not like they’re barreling through every 10 minutes.

I know this won't make sense to most Americans, since it goes against our rights to freedom, but _apparently_ trains like to run on a predetermined schedule...

For their law, it’s not illegal, yes it’s a legal. What you call legal, somewhere else it’s a illegal. But on the opposite, what you call illegal, of course somewhere else it’s a legal.

I would not ever do this but not because I am not spontaneous, because all it take is that one person to do something stupid enough like the person who kinda stretch out her arm pointing at the train this could tag the person along bringing everyone else including objects with the train. All because that one small stupid thing that person did ‘pointing at the trains’. Because people have no common sense. Think about that before attempting this experience!

The entrance of the famous Rail street has been barricated by its Government enforcement officer stopping the tourist from entering without any reasons. Unless you have to comit to buy any drink or foods to the shops inside the Rail street. That is very ridiculous, an ugly scene of corruption and severely collateral damage to the image of tourism in Hanoi city 😡😡😡
@EmmieandPaul10 ай бұрын
If you go to the southern part of train street there are no problems. It’s only at the main tourist section where they will stop you. It was getting too dangerous with close calls from silly tourists who weren’t listening to the shop owners etc.
@thumtlnguyen36262 ай бұрын
I know it doesn't make sense to the western law but you need to understand people living near the train track for the last 80 years at least before it turns into a tourist attraction.
