@@brandenburg7473 after seeing your comment, and doing some quick research, I am devastated in what I found. I where I thought it was a novel concept is actually a worldly devastation. I never thought about the heavy brine, I was always under the impression that the process reduce the elements down to salt crystals that could be sold on the world market. Small tropical islands investing in such technology to improve tourist facilities, would end up destroying the infrastructure they are trying to promote, such as scuba diving. Israel is so proud of their accomplishments, but do not address the negative Implications of what the heavy brine is doing to the sea.

As a recent visitor I had expected a desert country like the rest of the middle east, instead I get a land of milk and honey, it seems like every spot of land is farmed. They grow bananas! If the other countries of the middle east would look to Israel as a model, much would be different in their countries, Iraq could be a major food exporter, many other could at least be self sufficient. This is to say nothing of the accomplishments Israel has made in its industries, its educational system, and its medical system. Sort of a Switzerland among its belligerent neighbors.

As for the waters of the Jordan River, in addition to what Israel takes from the water, it has seized the rights of the Palestinians from the water of this river, which amount to 250 million cubic meters. Jordan receives 50,000,000 cubic meters (1.8 x 109 ft3) of river water, an amount regulated by the 1994 peace treaty with Israel.[12] In the past, the Jordan River was one of the main water resources in Jordan, with a water flow of 1.3 billion cubic meters per year. But after Israel established the Israeli diagonal carrier in 1953 and diverted water from the Sea of Galilee to the Palestinian coastal plains and southern desert, the flow of the lower Jordan River declined significantly. The 50 million cubic meters Israel gave from Lake Tiberias as part of the 1994 peace agreement was intended to compensate for this loss. A 2010 study found that the Lower Jordan River had decreased to 2% of its historical flow.[13] Water quality has also deteriorated sharply with high levels of salinity and pollution from agricultural fertilizers and untreated wastewater upstream in Israel. As you can see, the matter is no more than theft of water, no success story to go here, but the crime of stealing water and land

Water desalination plants are expensive, and heavy energy users. Probably why a small developed country like Israel can afford them, but not the populous poorer neighbours. Then there’s the carbon issue, over time, as to how the power for desalination is transitioned to renewables.

The biggest idea I am trying to express is tunneling aqueducts from the coast, in this case the west coast of the USA inland to feed combination geothermal power and sea water desalination plants. The idea seems to be so big that no one has considered it possible but I believe it is not only possible but it is necessary. For over a century the fossil water contained in aquifers has been pumped out to feed agriculture, industry and municipal water needs. The natural water cycle cant refill fossil water deposits that were filled 10,000 years ago when the glaciers melted after the last ice age. Without refilling these aquifers there is not much of a future for the region of the United states. As a result ground levels in some areas of the San Joaquin Valley have subsided by more than 30 feet. Similar fossil water depletion is happening in other regions all around the world. TBM and tunneling technology has matured and further developments in the industry are poised to speed up the tunneling process and it's these tunnels that are the only way to move large volumes of water from the ocean inland. The water is moved inland to areas where it can be desalinated in geothermal plants producing clean water and power. In many cases the water will recharge surface reservoirs where it will be used first to make more hydro power before being released into rivers and canal systems. It's very important however to not stop tunneling at these first stops but to continue several legs until the water has traveled from the ocean under mountain ranges to interior states. Along the way water will flow down grade through tunnels and rise in geothermal loops to fill mountain top pumped hydro batteries several times before eventually recharging several major aquifers. What I am proposing is essentially reversing the flow of the Colorado River Compact. Bringing water from the coast of California first to mountaintop reservoirs then to the deserts of Nevada and Arizona and on to Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. This big idea looks past any individual city or states problems and looks at the whole and by using first principles identifies the actual problem and only solution. Thank you for your time, I would like the opportunity to explain in further detail and answer any questions
