What adds to Vader's entrance is that the Inquisitor, who's been giving us so much shit throughout the game, who just delivered one hell of a boss fight, literally has the life drain from her eyes, hell, her very *soul* the second she hears that breathing. In that moment she becomes just as much a terrified child as Cal was during Order 66 if not more so. That is one hell of an effective way to convey that you don't stand a sliver of a chance.

i also love how, when reading Vader's description in the collectibles menu, it litteraly just says "he's too strong for you. if you see him, don't fight. RUN!!"

A lot of people don't realize that in fallen order, while never explicitly stated, cal's only 15, as jedi survivor takes place 10 years after the first game and he's said to be 25. He's not even old enough to become a Jedi Knight

Another reason for why Cal was so helpless during the train sequence and in the early game is that it was stated in the cutscene after Cals final exam that he and his master with their clones were supposed to be rerouted to a battlefield where Cal would be taught combat training in the field, which implies that prior to starting his quest Cal never received combat training outside of the three point saber combo and how to reflect projectiles.

I really like how they go about not letting Tapal or Cal realize that hologram is what triggered the betrayal. Tapal is having a terrifying vision and Cal is concerned is if his master is alright.

I completely agree with the game actually managing to make Vader scary, the whole game builoding up Cal struggling to keep up with the impossible tasks. That paired with the build up of his arrival, him killing the second sister and tossing aside your friend. Im so glad I played this before the sequel was announced cause I honestly didnt know if Cal was going to survive.

Another way Fallen Order makes you feel helpless is the entire plotline to get the holocron with the names of Force-sensitive children. In the Vader comics, Vader destroys a similar artifact so that Palpatine wouldn't be able to replace him; if he got the holocron, he would have destroyed it as well. In a way, nothing you do in the game matters, but the main characters don't know that.

So one thing I'll mention is that while I agree with a lotr of this video, it overestimates how much stronger a regular Jedi is compared to Cal. The thing is, Star Wars tends to focus on the highest of the high tiers. Pretty much every named Jedi we see in action is either a member of the council or a padawan directly trained by them. They're the best and strongest the Jedi get. Cal is average. If anything, I'd actually put him slightly above average. Inquistors might be low tier compared to Vader, but pretty much all of them have killed multiple fully trained Jedi before they meet their match. The number of Jedi who could survive multiple encounters with an Inquisitor, directly defeating two of them, is probably somewhere in the double digits out of the ten thousand or so pre-purge. And Cal did it without even having trained nearly long enough to reach knighthood. This is why they run-because the vast majority of them would die. Fallen Order works by avoiding the absurd power fantasy you get in the likes of the Force Unleashed (which is no longer canon) and shifts Jedi back toward what they are in the films-they have advantages, they can win most fights, but they aren't unkillably powerful. It isn't just Cal being made powerless-it is an active change to make a more grounded Star Wars canon where Jedi are just warriors, not unstoppable juggernauts.

I have a question. What is the highest REGULAR point in Arkham City you can reach and glide off of? (IE: No Wonder Tower that's disconnected from the rest of the city with nowhere to land, no Steel Mill Chimney that you can grapple to once, and it just triggers a force cutscene, and no Church Windows which is again a one time thing). I know there are ways to measure in game. Also curious just about general heights though. Like what is higher, the top of the Church's spire or the main chimney of the steel mill? How tall is Wonder Tower? What's the average wall height?

I just got the Deluxe Edition on Steam for 5 Bucks! The Vader scene seems like the first Doku scene in Ninja Gaiden Sigma. He's almost unbeatable on any level, and you're really not supposed to be able to beat him, but you can, but even 1 hit and you're instantly dead into a Cut Scene. But, for the average gamer playthrough, he's unbeatable by design and your death and resurection is just is a part of the story in its normal flow.

Personally I like Survivor more, but Fallen Order did do exploration better. Story is honestly on par but Survivor’s actually surprised me when Bode turned. And they kept surprising me time and time again, in good ways ofc. Might just be my favorite game of 2023

I like how both of these games just show you how absolutely miniscule you are in fallen order its clear your biggest feats are just taking down inquisitors,a fallen jedi way past his prime and barely surviving an encounter with Vader and Survivor while you feel stronger in the grand scheme of things youre still small so was Degan you two were ants fighting for dominance in the eyes of the empire and later it becomes more clear as the final boss isnt someone like darth vader its bode just a fellow survivor one that's going about the totally wrong way of things and the end goal shows what you are all this time all the fights with the raiders and the empire the death of cere it was all for a hiding spot thats it you did all of that just to hide from the empire

It gets better the more skills you unlock. You start of weak then get stronger in the force. Also you gota master blocking and parrying or dodging red attacks. Ye not easy game true gotta master deflecting laser bolts too. Its the monsters that are hard the huge white spider is one bloody hate that one hehe or the rancorns or ones on darthomir (this planets a challenge). Ye defo feel helpless 1st boss omi bongo is it?
