i started journalling because i was just pushing all my feelings and emotions away and it lead to sleep problems. Starting journalling has really improved my life.

it's about to be a year since a started journaling everyday and i only falied a handfull of days. i understand what you say about it becaming a chore and i totally agree, but i need it to be for now. i had and still have a lot of feelings that to process and putting into words was the only way i found to deal with it. i don't really have rules for how to do it, besides doing it everyday, i just type. for this year i'm thinking about getting a notebook to segregate thoughts from diary and voice recording too. the part about writing the same thing over and over got me too, at a point that in one of the entries i wrote "how many times do we have to come to the same conclusion to finally learn a lesson?". the honesty part is an exercise for me. often times i catch myself twisting words or using synonyms to not deal with a harsh truth, but by doing it constantly over time i'll get there.

A notebook definitely hits different I can't lie, I sometimes film myself talking when I can't be bothered to write or type which is a little weird lmao but yeah I might start using voice recording that sounds like a good idea. Oh yeah, I definitely wrote about the same thing in my journal, sometimes it's a bit frustrating and annoying to write about the same thing again and again...

I started journalling two years ago. In my journal, I write almost everyday, and I write completely in poetry. I have a really strict structure to follow, and that may be why I'm still journalling to this day: 15 hendecasyllabic verses (11 syllables) with alternated stresses (unstressed-stressed-unstressed...) on each syllable, with a "terza rima" rhyme scheme (ABABCBCDCDEDEAE, in this 15-verses case). I love poetry, alongside other things, and that's why I decided to put limits on what I write: to become better at it. I also chose the 15 verses length because it forces me to squeeze meaning in a short set of words, which ultimately reveals more info about what I feel, but it's also not too short. It's a good balance!

Totally agree on how helpful journaling is ☺️ helps sort out the thoughts by transferring them on paper and not leaving them brewing in the head

I love the filming in the video and all the angles you get ☺️ I’m trying to dip my toes into journaling as well but it’s so hard to keep it consistent 🫠

Thank you! Make it small but I don't think there's a need to pressure yourself to write when you don't have much to write about😊

Cara, could you make a video on your filming tips and tricks? Would love to know about camera, set up, editing ♥️
@carasway_ Жыл бұрын
Hi Mariam, I wouldn't say I'm 100% confident to make a video about my current set-up, cos I mainly use my iPhone to film, and include some clips from a camcorder. I use Final Cut Pro for the editing and kinda just play around with it:)
