Klopp did a great job at Liverpool He made me so anxious anytime city would play Liverpool And i respected it, they wete the opposite tho they had similarities with us, the do or die mentality on the field and competitiveness We were more controlled and systematic with beautiful quick movement of the ball around the defense Liverpool were the opposite, choas, more direct and didnt fear us one bit The chemistry between both teams was perfect for amazing matches Plus that front 3 was perfection
@goodman40936 ай бұрын
Results dont care about your anxiety. Man city hammered liverpool with more than 3 goals on 3 different ocassion. 5-0,4-1,4-0. Liverpool never won city with that score in the Epl. They manage only narrow victory because man city often played midfielder like cancelo or zincheko rather than real defenders. They just create chaos to masked theirs fear of man city

Thank you! I’ve been saying it for years! It’s no surprise Klopp will be known for 2 clubs, Dortmund and Liverpool…. They are each others counterparts in their respective leagues. Massive clubs with insane fans, the 2 best stadiums in Europe for atmosphere, formerly great clubs that have long suffered under their wealthy arch rivals, the cities, the histories, the stories…. Those 2 clubs are cousins now with a new link… Klopp.

There's another stat that's often missed out regarding the difference those 11mm made when Stones cleared the ball off the line. Not only would Liverpool have won the UCL-EPL double in 18/19, not only would they have been invincible domestically, they would have the longest unbeaten run in the English top flight. Before that Man City match in Jan 2019, Liverpool had gone 21 league games unbeaten. Add that to the 44 that followed, and the Man City match had the ball gone 11mm more and ended 2-2, that would be 66 English Premier League games unbeaten between the 0-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 6 May 2018 and the 0-3 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road in 29 February 2020, the longest unbeaten run in English top-flight history, far surpassing the 49-game record set by Arsenal.

The what ifs.
@BookerTDooku6 ай бұрын
The 11mm is a total distraction from the abject failure to send Kompany off in that same match. Having awarded the foul, the ref had no leeway but to award a card. Instead the ref decided to completely ignore a fundamental rule of the game in order to keep Kompany on the pitch. Why? And why no consequences for Taylor? And why no media fuss about it? It should have caused a scandal but was completely brushed over. It's probably the worst refereeing decision I've ever seen, and it wasn't an error. No ref in Taylor's position is ignorant of what a professional foul is and how denial of a goalscoring opportunity works. Pretty much every football fan knows how that rule works.
@717759266 ай бұрын
@@BookerTDooku I don't disagree that is a massive travesty and a massive flashpoint of the match, but there's no guarantee we would have gone on to win the game if Kompany had been sent off. I brought attention to the 11mm difference not as a matter of some grave injustice, just an objective, tangible what-if moment for us.

I remember the situation when Rodgers first had Firmino, and it was a worry at first, he really struggled and the worry was there were too many no.10s who wanted the ball to feet and not enough runners in behind, and the pundits compared it to when Chelsea had 3 no.10s and one striker and why it doesn't work in football. But to my surprise, Klopp put all 3 no.10s on the pitch as the front 3, Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana and he did make it work really well, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The strikers had injury problems anyway, but Firmino became the most important player in the system, and he was excellent as soon as Klopp came in

It's crazy how most of Klopp's seasons can be defined by one game and how different it could have been - Champions League final - 17/18 - Premier League - Liverpool vs City - 18/19 - Premier League - Watford vs Liverpool - 19/20 We don't talk about - 20/21 - Apart from Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips - Premier League - City vs Villa - 21/22 And how over that time Real Madrid has been the biggest thorn in our side in CL football.
@stevendchu5 ай бұрын
On the other hand..... 15/16 Europa League final. If Liverpool win, they make the CL. Meaning they prob would've ended up signing Mario Gotze instead of Sadio Mane. Sometimes things work out for the better.
@rushpan9315 күн бұрын
20/21 - Rhys, Nat and Ali, and Salah v Utd. 22/23 is the one I'll swiftly forget about but 20/21 was still one for the mentality monsters. With all those injuries and 6 consecutive home losses, to somehow come 4th. On the eve of the CL final of the following year of the almost-quadruple season, I was still rubbing my eyes in disbelief at where we would have been without all the improbable things that happened the year before. Also 21/22 at home vs Spurs was also equally defining. Had we not dropped points... Which reminds me of City v Leicester 18/19. Oh man 🥲

I feel like Klopp left one season early. In 22/23 season, Liverpool fell off and finished outside of the top 4. Last season, Klopp made signings of Endo, Szoboszlai and McAlister to completely rebuild Liverpool's midfield. It's practically a new team that would have reached its' peak next season. Klopp would've had the best chance of winning the 24/25 Premier League. City after winning the treble and four leagues in a row would likely have a major drop off, they already kinda did last season and Arsenal would bottle it as always. Wish Klopp would stay for just one more season
@spectaxxx6 ай бұрын
I think he was done, and of all managers and projects, Klopp couldn't have faked it. It was interesting - given how much the team became an extension of his personality - they reflected his exhaustion by the end of the season. Tie that to how (as the Athletic reported) many of the players were already calling this season 'the last dance' even before they knew Klopp was leaving.
@LukeConnelly16 ай бұрын
I think leaving a season early is something I don't see people talking about which highlights just how good of a manager he is. To leave the club on the up, so that a young manager can come in and has everything he needs to do something special, I think that's amazing and excites me so much as a Liverpool fan. It's a criticisim I think a lot of people would have of Ferguson: That his short-termism (e.g. signing an aging Van Persie) & wanting to leave on a win, left the club in a poor state for Moyes (with a considerable helping hand from the glazers of course). To be clear, Fergies will to win is what made him such a manager, so it's not "bad" - it's just pros and cons of the approach It feels as though Jürgen only ever saw his job as improving the club, not winning - which is incredibly special, I feel
