Drake being mixed race doesn’t separates them. It’s the culture. Kendrick continues paying ups to Eminem, and collaborated with him even as he built (one of) the continued centerpieces of his art: that hip hop requires a reset of innovation and creative work that lives forever as he says; to create not only comprehensive works as single albums but through the full body of a career and in Kendrick’s ambitions, through hip hop and the industry as a whole. The only reason the mixed race piece is mentioned is because it seems like Drake is fighting hard to deny this piece of himself. Started from the Bottom had him flying to Toronto, HYFR has him in a grown-Up Bat Mitzvah. All when he was ramping up for his classics. I wonder an alternate timeline if he kept the path and stayed true to his roots.

Question......why is it that when Drake through out the years of his career is doing the artist the favor? can it not also be ,Drake is getting on new Artist to stay relevant ...it can also be both !!! 1.What is Drakes sound? 2. whats his Rap only album? 3.Is an Actor /Singer/Rapper a true Rapper Hip Hop Artist as we culturally perceive it. 4.What is Drakes sound , stripping away his accents & Features🤔 I prefer Drake back in Young Money days , he no longer seems authentic , enjoying himself or true to what he enjoyed originally and TRUE lovers of the Craft will understand and agree.

@@laHagans yeah when’s the last time you heard TPAB lol I’m not shotting on Kendrick but drake has impacted the industry and music to a higher degree by far than Kendrick. Kendrick needed to beef with Drake to even compete numbers wise. Kendrick is like jazz, it’s great but hard to listen to sometimes and Drake is like pop, easy to listen to but not as much depth sometimes. By default pop reaches more people and has more impact

@@JustaguyIam24Exactly so when people are comparing quality their going to say the jazz artist has higher quality though the more enjoyable music is the pop artist. People respect the Jazz player more than the pop artists because if the discipline, talent and intellect that goes into that genre. The pop artist entertains you but they may not have the disciplines it takes to make successful music. Unless that pop artists is incredibly talented and ambitious that’s how it goes. MJ and prince were the exceptions is like that because they applies the same level of musicianship but different genre. Either way people respect intellect more than amusement. They know when they hear substance and something frivolous, Which is why drake’s approach makes making a classic an uphill battle.

You can’t knock Kendrick for not wanting to be cool with a fraud that happens to be at the top of the rap game lol. This how you know majority of yall don’t understand why Drake being 1 is an issue lol. He’s not #1 based on talent, he’s number one cause of streams and being an industry pawn

Drake became jealous of Kendrick because he didnt expect someone who came from young money and Lil Wayne to be surpassed. he thought he could "lil bro" Rocky and Dot. the best rapper alive was passing the crown and the control verse was Kendrick snatching it. its why Drake had to drop every year to prove his the best but deep down he knew he was 2nd best in every scenario.
@JustaguyIam243 ай бұрын
I think drake was offended at control cause it was a shortcut in a way. As good as gkmc was people still slept on Kendrick but all of a sudden they were saying he’s as great as Drake even though he accomplished way less. 1. The way this guy looks had me *shook* (not what I expected). 2. I can't lie, regardless of how the beef played out. The first half makes me happy that they're beefing publicly again because when I listened to "Nothing Was The Same" after he dropped "Push Ups" I realised that was my favourite version of him (despite it being the beginning of him trying to get street credit to get rap acceptance). I'd love another album like that tbh. 3? - Ironically, Drake & Kendrick genuinely had great musical chemistry. The part people seem to hate to give him credit for is other artist's really suck when they go out of their genre (I didn't forget any of the trash features on those EDM beats, y'all). But both Drake & Kendrick body every different type of beat they get onto & yes, Kendrick - acknowledge it or not - has hopped on some wildly different styles (bodied them, obviously). 4? I prefer Dot lyrically for how he uses his voice and creates+adopts character through storytelling BUT (to me - but I also believe objectively) Drake had the better verse on both of their songs together. His verses were the one's people waited for especially on "Problems" because there was a time where that "and juhhhh, okay I got it.." was the line people I was around shouted whenever it came on (that's *NOT* to say people didn't go ham for "Halle Berry, Halle Lujah" just not as much for Drake's verse in my experience). No Cape, just a few thoughts that came through while seeing the covers and reminiscing on the moments when they happened...
