This and Cowbells from Disney Channel, which both were released in 2006, were influenced by The Simple Life. And if the O. twins were have acted in this film it would’ve had similar feedback as far as the film pushing their products. They would’ve had better chemistry though on screen maybe because they’re used to acting together. Anne H. and Lindsay Lohan being in this instead would’ve probably been interesting since they were both charismatic and expressive young actors at the time. But yea, it’s better that they weren’t cast in this fiasco. Fun review as always. When you randomly at times break out in a song is your gift to us, thank you. 😄😁

Hillary Duff seems like such a sweet, genuine woman and a great mom, but wow her movies were insufferable. I was never a Lizzie McGuire kid so maybe I just don't have the same lens of nostalgia that others have, but A Cinderella Story was trash, Raise Your Voice was weird and WHY were they insistent on making her sing in every single movie??? Truly wild to me (Also, as a girl with big arms too, I understand the self-consciousness that comes along with that and I'm sure you don't need my validation anyway, BUT you're beautiful and your Jessica Rabbit is going to be perfect❤)

I loved how she actually cared about her buisness and was not the villain character which she is also good at playing. I grew up loving Hilary Duff and I still love her but I'll admit, not a lot of her movies are masterpieces. The only movie I felt super invested in was A Cinderella Story. That being said, I don't think all her movies are bad. Just not the best and that's how I personally feel about Material Girls. The acting is kind of corny and also the dialogue but I personally find it a fun movie. I honestly never really took it seriously. It was just a fun watch despite the bad acting. I did like the storyline of the maid who wanted her children back and how it ended with her finally reunited with them. I thought that was sweet. I also remember liking Ava's love interest and thought he was funny with his sarcastic monotune personality. I also had fun watching Hilary and Haylie play off of each other even if the characters didn't really have a believable sister chemistry. I know Hilary and Haylie are super close in real life so it was fun watching them work together. Maybe I'm just speaking as a Hilary Duff fan cause I feel like if anyone I wasn't really a fan of was in this movie, I wouldn't really care about it. Also Anjelica Huston is in this movie! ICON! Love her! Sorry if that came off as an afterthought. I kept reminding myself to include her but kept forgetting lol

Kennie, the movie DID NOT make its budget back. Can someone please tell Kenneth how it works. The studio/production company spent 15 million, then possibly 5 to ten million on promo. The theaters take about hLf of the box office….so a movie with a 15 million budget, plus 10 million promo, costs the studio 25 million. That means the movie needs to gross twice that at the box office to make back it’s budget, or break even. The movie grossed 16 million worldwide. That means that the studio saw 8 million for a project that cost them 20 to 25 million. They lost money.
