The shape of the Juubi’s fireball makes a bit of sense. The higher up, or larger, a fireball is, the less upward resistance to expansion it encounters as the atmosphere thins. This fireball is so incredibly massive, many thousands of times more powerful than the largest nuclear bombs ever produced, that a lot of the energy got shot upward towards space instead of outward.

@@IDK-yv4cv A bijuudama the size of Tsar Bomba's fireball (around 8 miles wide) would be big enough to flatten maybe 4-5 mountains, if you roughly translate the scale of real-world terrain to that of the terrain shown in this manga panel. The Juubi's version flattened well over a hundred mountains. Add to that the fact that the Juubi's explosion wasn't a sphere, but a very tall cone, as well as the fact that explosions scale logarithmically in size (which means that to double the fireball size, you need more than twice the yield), and the Juubi's bomb would come out to be at minimum as powerful as several hundred Tsar Bombas. Feel free to take what I say with a grain of salt though; Kishimoto's sense of scale is wildly inconsistent and all over the place.

people tend to forget how big the tailed beast are their supposed to be near mountain sized creatures and remember the 10 tails was even bigger than the eight tails so for it to launch an attack that big before its fully complete is insane. Speed is another factor too just because these characters aren't always shown moving faster then the eye can see doesn't mean they aren't moving fast obviously they draw the panels to show us the fight so they have to make the characters look like their moving slowly when their really not

Speed is tricky. They DO slow down the true speed of what's happening for us, but I find that on top of that you also have to figure out who's eyes you're watching the fight through sometimes (even tho it's not a first person view). For example: in the lee vs gaara fight: we're watching mostly through the eyes of the genin, as lee is practically invisible half the time while the jonin who are also watching can still perceive him pretty easily.

I think that the bijuudama is appropriate; at least, the standard-size one. A swipe from one of Kurama’s tails can easily flatten mountains, and the bijuudama is just delivering that same destructive power at a distance. However, I did like the original 4-tailed Naruto and 8-tails Bee versions better, as they deviated from a nuclear fireball and were significantly more destructive, relatively speaking.

It drives me mad when people try to use the curvature as an indication of anything beyond "yep, that's pretty big" because not only it is inconsistent, if you take most instances of this happening, like in this pannel you analyzed, it would mean that the naruto planet is tiny, moon sized, at best

Kubo does depict scale well though, it's just that a lot of characters are more about hax than sheer destruction, so naturally, their power isn't going to be displayed by stuff going boom. Take Ichibei as the prime example. His whole gimmick is manipulating the concept of names and the color black. How does Kubo depict scale? By showing his mere release affecting everything with the color black in the universe and by him taking "black" from nights in the future. Besides, there just aren't that many characters in Bleach with universe-annihilating power, or even close to it anyway. The only ones I can even think of are the Soul King, whom we never see in action, and Yhwach after he took his power, and he was about to engulf all three realms before the silver arrow hit.

And notice that I said “passively” as in no attack from the Bankai is necessary, just Yamamoto being in his Bankai state is enough to destroy the Soul Society. The Soul Society is equal to the World Of the Living which is more than just Earth, it’s the whole universe. So the Soul Society is the size of the universe. So Yamamoto can destroy the universe as well as anyone that scales above him like Yhwach, Ichibei, Aizen, and possibly Ichigo if he had the skillset. We never saw the Soul King do anything so we can’t say anything about his abilities or strength.

It is a shame we never got to see in the manga or in the anime the size of the burst caused by the super tailed beast bomb that minato transported to the sea in order to save the shinobi alliance. This happened when the ten tails opened the mouth and had like a cannon that it used to create that gigantic tailed beast bomb, then the 4 hokages generated a red barrier capable of containing the burst and even obito used a bigger red barrier to contain 4 tailed beast bomb of the same size but we never saw the size or the destructive potential of that tailed beast bomb.

I think science of a shape of an explosion wasnt even an option lmao. Jokes aside, I wished i just cared that this explosion (or massives explosions) happened and were relevant to make more tension. For me... its just a show off of a creature that will be defeated (the only explosion i slightly cared in this part of the story was at the HQ where Shikaku e Inoichi were). just with this panel i don't understand how people scale naruto to planetary or above, The ten tail that is supposed to be able to destroy the earth cannot even destroy a country according to this panel, they take all their statements from the Light novel, but in a book the author can say anything and everything or exaggerate things but as soon as you have to draw it he doesn't show anything because it's not realistic, even with the argument of the potential for attack with the example of the universe of kaguya and others it doesn't fit, Obito with his kamui has a dimension of his own at 14 years old this does not mean that obito is dimensional or planetary, or the fact that they can be injured by swords or kunai(Naruto or momoshiki), the author just makes descriptions for the characters to make his characters interesting but it makes no sense, I mean by this that if the author says that temari can destroy the earth, that's not true, yes there is a satement like that in the databooks precisely where we can exaggerate things but in the end we don't show or prove Nothing.

​​@@PegasusTenma1 are you sure? because thats it a downplay to me because a weaken pain chibaku tensei itself is equal to mountain in term of area and this bijuu bomb alane is so massive that it make even jubiidara chibaku tensei pale in compareson to it even though jubiidara meteor itself is easily small country to country level in term of area due to the fact that a part of the meteor dwarf mountain when the meteor is forming and yet this same bijuu bomb from a weaker jubii make it like child play even with all of the meteor combine it is pale in compareson to the bijuu bomb

the video summarizes entirely why naruto fans are idiots. Atomic bombs and gundams destroyed the coherence of Naruto's universe and Kishimoto says so himself. In Boruto we have more taijutsu and kunai than ridiculous nuclear bomb. I'm glad Kishimoto doesn't listen his fans on Boruto
