Sage Mode I always have a fondness for this form because that was when I found Naruto Shippuden at its peak. A power-up that made sense in supplementing Naruto's capabilities(also smartly utilizing Shadow clone development) and also very much fitting Naruto thematically as gaining more insight about the world/ being entrusted by Jiraiya's will. Also, I'm not going to lie; that red jacket was always badass and wished that Naruto could have had a variant of that as an adult.

Yeah the cape was pretty awesome & his hokage cape should've kept the same look honestly. I really don't know why they decided to shorten it & make it look like that. Not that it looks bad. I feel like people overrate Naruto’s performance against the nine tails just because until then we’ve never seen anybody step up to the nine tails like that. He didn’t actually do any lasting damage, needed Bee to save him from a TBB that would’ve cooked him, in a fight in the real world he would’ve gotten washed AND he can enter Sage mode while moving because his physical body is still, that’s a lot of advantages and that he wouldn’t have Irl. Two things, imagine how much Chakra Naruto is usually using to hold back the nine tails. When we're inside his astral projection, we get to see him use the entirety of his Chakra pool, not just his extra. I am at 7:54, but so far my theory is.: After Minato appeared he reconstructed the seal which boosted Naruto chakra pool by A LOT. As it was stated by Kakashi, Naruto was being drawn back by kurama as he had to use his chakra to keep Kurama inside, hypothetically if he was using about 50%-70% of his chakra pool to keep kurama inside with a weaker by the day seal, after having the seal reconstructed he didnt have that hassle anymore as ge could keep Kurama inside way easier and at the same time he didnt have to exhaust so much chakra for that, which would explain the sudden chakra pool increase and explain why naruto came out of the 8 tails kurama transformation rested and not heavily tired/wounded as the time he fought orochimaru with 4 tails

In story I see it as Naruto being able to maintain his sage mode due to having a still body which gives him a longer time of use and better control over sage mode as the pain fight was his first outing with the power and we see how Naruto isn't perfect with it and has to be ready for anything Though the love boost and heal from his parents makes the difference as that is also a power up in anime just not used as much. my understanding of it was that nature chakra was necessary to beat pain because he would just absorb normal ninjutsu. In Naruto's fight against the nine-tails he was able to use his massive natural chakra reserve for jutsu. I think its definitely possible to combo regular chakra with nature chakra, as we see plenty of times where Naruto mixed different chakra natures into his rasengans. He was stronger because he was made weaker in his fight against Pain. And the debut of sage mode minus naturos natural chakra gave the illusion that he had gained an unreasonable amount of power in his fight against Kurama when he had it all along.

my theory is that when Naruto beat his Yami half his chakra was no longer split between dark and light. and it became more balanced because he was now at peace within himself. This then made his chakra stronger and denser. Then on top of him being able to go into sage mode while sitting allowed him to beat the fox. I mean, I get the logic behind using the Pain arc to scale the power of Sage mode, but that was Naruto’s second fight in Sage mode and first full battle against arguably one of the most powerful characters in the ninja world. A better sense of Sage mode’s power amplification is Hashirama against Madara and Kurama clad in Susanoo armor. He decimated both just in Sage mode. Battle xp and maturity also matte

We all know prime Nagato could have soloed Naruto since he would be able to wield all the powers of the six paths simultaneously along with having mastered all five nature transformations. Now... that begs the question, why didn't Nagato just absorb parts of the captured jinchuriki's chakra to regain his maneuverability? Like in the war arc, we all saw Nagato regain his health and vitality by absorbing some of Killer Bee's chakra, and it barely did anything to Killer Bee, or at least there were no side effects. Why did he never think to do that?

Yup that’s a better question and he touched on this in other videos. Nagato or pain never uses this chakra for life and energy absorption besides that fight when he’s brought to life by kabuto with itachi. I mean nagato had to keep the gedo Statue up without the tailed beast chakra till they got all them so it explains his constant drain plus managing the paths of pain.

Don't forget that Naruto only has half of Kurama. Kurama for much of the series is nerfed. Which makes the Minato one crazier. Minato clashed with the whole 9 tails.

I would imagine that Naruto basically had infinite sage mode because his body was stationary the whole fight in the real world. Sage Naruto was humiliating the paths of pain as long as Sage mode was active. Not sure if Dygo brings that up in the vid

Remember the very first episode of Naruto? Where this kid who is bad at all Jutsu ESPECIALLY the CLONE jutsu, ends up using a multishadow clone jutsu the likes of which shouldn't have been possible, to save Iruka? Yeah thats what the Giant Massive Rasengan MultiShadow clone barage against the nine tails was. It was Kishimoto saying, yeah he can do this because he's the main character and has one of the largest chakra pools in Shinobi history.

The fight with pain was the first naruto fight in sage mode. He got better faster stronger. It's like super saiyan it's a multiplier

well, it was only half of nine tails, plus Naruto must have gotten stronger from the waterfall of truth in the mindscape and he had Kushina's chakra which held 100 percent of nine tails before she died as well. So if Naruto inhereted some of her chakra he'd have more overall chakra. Keep in mind Naruto was rushing to learn sage mode so after Pain was defeated he had more time to fully take time to better train it.

dont forget. the nine-tails naruto fights in his mind as ONLY the nine-tails chakra. the tail forms of naruto combine narutos and kuramas chakra, thats why they are so much more potent. narutos inherint high chakra and skill gets amplified by kurama. thats also the reason why they were so strong together when kurama finally became "friends" with naruto. naruto also got help in his mind battle. it all plays together

My theory us that kurama said he is fighting the sage chakara so naruto has a harder time gathering chakara. During thid fight kurama is distracted fighting Naruto so hes able to gather the chakara easily. Thus a power boost.

No doubt learning sage mode put Naruto on another level. KCM 1, KCM 2, sage of 6 path are great but I feel Naruto learning sage mode put him in the level to easily achieve those . And clearly sage mode Naruto can beat ms sasuke, even obito state that.

Without the 9 tails naruto looses to genjutsu spam. He also can't do anything about amatrasu. Sauskes also much faster with way more battle experience. Tbh naruto didn't stand a chance until kcm 1.

@@bobbob-zc1nxeven with any kcm naruto loses. If I remembered correctly, any uchiha with mangekyou sharingan is able to completely control the 9 tails or just any tailed beast. Or if it was just a special gengutsu that only Obito and madara could use cause they are the only two shown controlling Kurama.

Well first of all he had help from Mishima, who was using her chains to retrain kurama so you have to take that into account , but Naruto was able to keep up with and even equal the nine tails in power because A he was sitting still in that state and therefore could constantly mould sage chakra and B it was stated by kakashi that if Naruto wasn’t suppressing the nine tails (which at this point he had released the seal) he would have 100 times the amount than himself.
