Read this so you DONT HAVE TO WASTE 10 MINS: Kite has a crazy slot number that only activates when he’s serious about not wanting to die. Once activated before being killed, kite’s Nen ability allows his soul and conscious to stay alive, lingering around his brain. Later on, Pitou takes out kite’s organs, including the brain and sends it to the Queen to feed on (which explains the stitches on kite’s body). Once the Queen fed on kite’s organs, his soul was still lingering around, looking to capture a soulless body. Having the king already close to birth with a conscious of his own, kite’s soul couldn’t reside inside the king so instead he was able to enter into a red-haired girl who was also consumed at the time and that led to kite’s soul entering her body thus becoming a girl.

The next arc is already set up with After-Death nen powers, so to surprise the reader Togashi will likely have Hisoka and Kurapika kill Chrollo, Hisoka might get killed by Machi. If Kurapika dies to Hisoka or Chrollo, then Leorio heals Kurapika, then dispels either Hisoka or Chrollo’s nen which gets either of them killed at a crucial moment since Hisoka can’t revive himself and Chrollo won’t have his stolen ability when fighting someone. Leorio will be set up to be conditionally OP because he can basically restrict and dispel nen at a long distance with his ability and scientific/medical study of nen.

Though I love the idea of Kite becoming the queen and starting the phagogenesis process all over again, I don't think it's possible. The way Chimera Ant reproduction works is always Queen > King > Queen > King. Step 1: Queen produces soldiers. Step 2: Soldiers fetch best genetic material for the Queen. Step 3: Using the food, Queen births a King. Step 4: King looks for partners of the races he was born from to impregnate them. Step 5: Queens are born from that. Step 6: Back to Step 1. So the person who could become Queen next wouldn't have been Meruem's sister, but instead any daughters Meruem had.

Everything about hxh is well thought. Story, characters, abilities, even the protagonist is likeable unlike other animes. Seriously its one of the most polished animes out there. This explanation is flawed or at the very least incomplete. With your explanation the phagogenesis and consumption of Kite are basically requirements for his ability to work. But since Kite most certainly developed this ability without having chimera ants in mind, this explanation has severe gaps. The questions you need to answer is: How would Kite revive if he were killed and left for dead to rot on the ground?

SPOILERS FOR THE MANGA: Is this the way that Hisoka also used to survive his Chrollo fight? From what I understood he temporarily transferred his state of being to nen and that returned to his body after a while.. So kite's version is quite similar to this; as there was no way of repairing his original body his state of being was transferred to another life form which has the ability to remember the past self and inherit nen.
