My best friend and I met Brooke back in 1978 when she was in Australia, she had just finished filming "The Blue Lagoon" in Fiji and was in Sydney promoting her movie "Tilt". My friend and I had skipped school to try and meet her as we knew what hotel she was staying at. Security and hotel staff wouldn't allow us past the foyer and told us to leave. I went to a phone booth outside, pretended to be a journalist and the desk connected me to Brooke's suite. Mrs Shields answered the phone and I told her we were fans and just wanted to give Brooke a gift. She said she'd come down. Long story short ... her mum came down and invited us up to meet her. The look on the security guard and staff's faces was priceless, lol. Brooke was such a lovely, down-to-earth young girl and thrilled with the chocolates and koala we gave her. She posed for photos, signed our autograph books and we all chatted for about half an hour. She was sick and recovering from a bout of the flu she'd caught in Fiji and had no make-up on but she was absolutely beautiful. Nice memories, just wanted to share.

The world reflects our attitude toward others. If we jointly transform our attitude toward others from abusive and aggressive to considerate and caring, the lives of all of us will change, as well, from a losing battle to a smooth and pleasant ride.
