Great you are one of few football creators who openly care about anything else than football. You may wanna make a video about Per Mertesacker's book and possibly get him to appear on your show. He wrote in his autobiography few years ago about how he almost quit playing altogether because of the pressure and de-pression that the environment caused. Lothar Matthäus went to lengths in order to say that "real men" don't whine like that, but deliver, blah, blah. This is still an opinion that has some attention, especially in the "real men" world of football where women's and queer people's rights are almost as underdeveloped as in Mullah Iran.

It’s funny how people said that Liverpool will collapse after Klopp leaving since it’s ‘impossible’ to hire someone that good after him, meaning the job following Klopp is extremely hard. Now the same people yelling that Slot is doing what is expected from him since he inherited a good team😂😂😂😂

Tbf it’s a harsh comparison for a number of reasons, main one being Klopp wasn’t a coach and Slot is. I am convinced already that Slot is a better coach than Ljinders, and I did rate Ljinders when he worked with Klopp.
@silvesta5027

I think people overrate the importance of managers. How a football club is run is MUCH more important. This is why Real Madrid can bring in whichever coach they’d like this past decade and have seen incredible success, where United have tried plenty of managers and have remained stagnant. Liverpool is well run, and so I expected Slot to be successful there. It hasn’t mattered whether it was Ten Hag, Van Gaal, Ole or even Mourinho, United was run horribly under the Glazers. And so naturally they have basically all been failures across the board

@@bfethree4060 I think Slot had a say in players Klopp got, Gravenbirch being the most obvious. Klopp’s greatest talent and his biggest weakness is his lack of a massive ego. I doubt City, like United, Arsenal and others, will carry on even with the same players, to the same standard. Pep has a bigger ego and won’t think as much about how to help his successor be successful, rather he’ll squeeze out the talent he already has, like Fergie did, though not to the extent Fergie did, which was criminal. It was all about him, Moyles van deal with whatever I leave him, not giving it any thought. How many retired the same season Fergie did? Not just players, too. The CEO went, which caused chaos.

I've been playing or watching football my entire life, and I am utterly stumped. How Slott was able to coordinate a style of play around players' individual abilities so seamlessly is utterly beyond me. Another thing that surprises me is the blatant physicality of each player individually. It was shocking to see MU players getting thrown off the ball so easily. As an LFC fan, I don't want to get too optimistic, but I get this feeling that Slott's got more than a couple of other tricks up his sleeves. I feel that he's got a particular strategy for any given team selection. I'm completely mesmerised and befuddled. Great analysis, BTW!

I signed up to LFCGO as I do for the free month every year to see the preseason and if you see the training they do a lot now towards body strength and being aggressive, you should take a look if you can find a clip, maybe if you see an Inside Training video on youtube you'll see....our team are going to be imperious....Slot is one hell of a Head Coach....I still want to say manager....
@GoPoketheBird

@@Nicolasin-yn9mu Yep, when in america they were doing boxing training I believe, they also were playing some game passing weighted balls back and forth. As an american a lot of these types of training seem very similar to stuff you would do in american football and I'm sure rugby as well. I love the sense of urgency and aggression they seem to have found and of course I love watching the passing they are doing now. Actually couldn't be happier with Slot and how the team has adapted
@yichengyi
@yichengyi Ай бұрын
@Nicolasin-yn9mu I've seen some of the drills/exercises, and I saw them before I saw the last three (six counting the US tour). I sincerely couldn't put thoughts to words for what I thought at the time was pretty weird sh*t. The dark arts of teaching players how to legally manhandle a person off the ball are infinitely strong with Slot. It's too soon to say, but there are too many consistent infidesmal yet almost constant reactions to receiving and attacking the ball in and out of possession to not recognise that it has been rehearsed. The variation in the pace and strategy that Slot uses to dismantle teams is uncanny. That moment where MacAllister throws up his arms in protest to the loss in shape just before Trent's recalled goal when I was completely sold on Slot. All I could think was that the worst thing that could happen when our forward press falls is that we score, we're gonna be gold. TBF, in retrospect, I can understand Klopp and Guardiola's tactics, but I have watched almost 20 analysis videos, and each personality has a different element that they claim is THE ONE reason why we won that match. Slot deliberately trained and explained the philosophy behind the system before the match. That man has very unique coaching abilities.

As a Feyenoord fan, you are correct. We miss Slot very much. In your analisys you clearly see how simple football can be, with the right players! We in Rotterdam called it Slot's Fire zone. Just outside of the box. I beleive you call it the Danger zone. Slot isn't affraid to conceid a goal. In every match this can happen, no matter how good you are. His philosophy is to overflow the region just outside the box. And if this fails the team knows to overfow another part of the field. That's why you see a 3 man defence against a 3 man attacking group. And thats why you see the forewards scoring. Some say Salah should be at Liverpool for another 5 years. I disagree. He played fantastic but it was made possible thanks to the rest of the team.

Pressing whilst keeping your wide players wide feels really counterintuitive, because conventional wisdom is always that you narrow the pitch when you haven't got the ball, and make it as wide as possible when you do, but Liverpool's pressing trap to force them centrally by doing so makes perfect sense - the centre of midfield has been a weakness of Man Utd for over a decade now. My suspicion is that Ugarte isn't going to be some kind of miraculous panacea, so it will be interesting to see if other coaches try to target the same spot, given Liverpool's success there. Particularly given that PSG were happy to see Ugarte go because they felt he wasn't good enough on the ball. It feels the same underlying issues will likely remain unless ten Hag changes his tactical approach.

That interception from Gravenberch is genuinely elite. Not just seeing it, but the touch and roll forward.

I think many Liverpool fans are still reserved with Slot, but 3 games 9 points and 0 goals conceeded is a very nice start.

Absolutely, happy with the nice start but you don't win a league in 3 games

I think you’re talking out your arse. The vast majority of Liverpool fans are very happy. Some edgy wools are acting reserved so if anything goes wrong they can be all “hate to say I told you so” for some clout - but they’re all berks.

Brilliant analysis, it got me thinking, if Slot were managing man utd, would he be able to implement this game plan with this level of success? And would Ten hag do better with a Liverpool team as well?

Slot was always going to crush this game. The man is a strategist...meanwhile ETH spends on replicating his Ajax side year by year playing predictably
