We don't know that the evidence we have is there is a contract impasse, as far as we know Salah is leaving at the end of the season. Even if he stays he WILL go eventually in 1 or 2 years, so this conversation is an eventuality

@shekel2356 ofc he'll have to leave eventually, nobody's doubting that, that's why preparing is key, but his longevity is incredible and something you rarely see anymore, at this rate if he remains consistent he's gonna outperform even his previous seasons by a mile

I think people spend so much time dancing around the "Why isn't Salah rated or spoken about like a Hazard, Vini, etc." / "Does he have charisma" question. I think really its quite simple, he's Egyptian. If Salah was English, French, Brazilian etc. he would be at the top of the Ballon d'Or lists and getting the plaudits his record deserves.
@PuddlesofLFC

An associated part of that is his route to top class level. He wasn’t in England or Spain balling out from his teens. Came to Chelsea, didn’t work out. Also spent time in Switzerland and Italy in teams that weren’t winning big in Europe. Relatively late bloomer but such a gem. Such a big part of the team for nearly a decade, weird to think about him leaving
@DPAE-xc4ph
@DPAE-xc4ph Ай бұрын
Oh come on. He’s not rated because he isn’t an aesthetic player to watch. His dribbling is stiff and fidgety and his shooting technique looks odd. Hence, he doesn’t have many ‘magical’ moments that a Neymar or a Hazard has. I absolutely despise when people bring nationality into debates. 99.9% of the time, it plays no part.
@domnickamatya3826

Because Salah doesn't inspires in game.. he is that type of player who plays almost 90 mins bang average but suddenly ends the game with a goal and assists somehow.. that's why he has never been considered as a balon d'or winner player.. he was so successful because of firmino and mane .. nowadays he can't dribble down a player , barely uses his speed but like I said he somehow scores or assist and that's the only thing he is always selected in starting 11.
@Trap-Joe

@@DPAE-xc4phWith all due respect, you’re wrong. His nationality has a lot to do with his dismissal by the western media, even by the rival Arabic media (political injustices and prejudices are very real in all types of sports and not just Football), and he has a better output than most of those in his position even at their prime age. His dribbling technique since his young age has been mostly direct with little hints of showboating, but he isn’t as flashy with the useless (yet entertaining) excessive dribbling to avoid major injuries especially outside the box. He could be a little stiff with his movements sometimes, but that trade of his made him unpredictable especially when combined with his erratic pace.
@DPAE-xc4ph
@DPAE-xc4ph Ай бұрын
@@Trap-Joe Remarkable claims require remarkable evidence. You’re implying that there is some sort of grand conspiracy among every major Western media organisation and pundit to downplay Mohammed Salah’s footballing ability. @Afterthoughtbtw
@Afterthoughtbtw Ай бұрын
I find the suggestion that Salah wouldn't be in an all-time PL team baffling. He's played when the league has been a far higher standard, and he's been producing numbers no wide forward has _ever_ been able to hit in the league. I mean, you compare him to the 90s, when the Premier League was probably at absolute best the 3rd best in Europe (as can be seen by the awful record of English teams in Europe, among many other metrics) and he completely demolishes any and all competition. There's simply no room for discussion. This is a guy who came to the Premier League quite late in his career comparatively, and if he stays just two more years, bar something unforeseen, the only player who will have more goals than him is Alan Shearer. And he is a wide player. He gives you assists comparable to Beckham, and goals comparable to Henry. And he is playing in a far harder league now than they did. The sole reason people would overlook him is nostalgia.

At this point, I'd be very surprised if Salah actually left Liverpool. Same for Van Dijk who will have his contract announced at Christmas in the same way he was first signed. He needs to stay more seasons to actually achieve that and there's plenty of records to break, he knows that...

Salah's consistent excellence covers up the deficiencies in the rest of lfc's attackers, all of whom are CL level and NONE are CL winning level. best solution is renewing him for 3 years, going out to buy a world class forward now (Kvara, Wirtz etc) & trying to develop internal solutions (Doak, Ngumoha etc) for 2 years time worth selling Jota who has proven he cannot stay fit to fund that new arrival. Salah deserves a player better than Diaz, Darwin, Gakpo to help him in the next two years.

Hi guys, LFC fan here. Let me start by saying I rate Salah very very highly, and if/when he leaves it will be up there with Klopp leaving in terms of sadness levels. When that is said, and I know this next part will be an unpopular opininon when it comes to some parts of the LFC fan base, but if anything the last 10 years thought me to trust the organization and leadership behind the club to do what is best for the club going forward. I remember the uproar when Coutinho left, same with some part of the fan base when Slot was announced as the one to take over for Klopp. And just look at the videos from the last summer transfer window - the negativitiy of hardly any signings and us failing to sign Zubimendi, most predicted the season would be a write off. Same happend with the whole Lavia, Caicedo debacle...and I could keep listing episodes parts of our fanbase moaned about. But honestly look at what we achived these past 10 years with our limited budget, look at the joys we had. Untill the clubs leadership proves me wrong, I'm going to back them, even though I do agree that letting the contract of 3 of our absolutly key players get to this point doesn't look good...I still trust them to do what is best for our club. YNWA!!!

@@Yourabsyx7 I hear you and I get what you are saying, but the fact is that neither of us are sitting at the negotiaon table, we don't know what demands are being made, and we don't have the data on the players the club does. I'm not saying Mo will fall off like we saw with bruno after he signs a new contract, but we can't fight age...even Mo. But lets say we give him a new 2 year contract, we would have to sell him after a year anyway to get any real amount of money. Maybe the club got their sight on a new Mo who they feel they can bring in on a 5 year for 150k-200k and maybe they feel like they need to rip off the bandage at some point anyway, so they might feel now is the right time if they actualy got someone in sight. All I'm saying is, we don't really have much idea on what is going on. all we see are these amazing guys putting in a fantastic job week after week, and we all want that to keep going, but I honestly feel like the leadership of our club has earned my trust, even when my heart says otherwise. Watching the roundtable video LFC put out with Ali, Mo and Robo absolutly didn't make that stance any easier...Just give Mo what he want's :D

First and foremost God help us. I hope everyone who voted for this is realising what they have done.. I hope they feel the pain that others will be feeling because of their inability to see through trickster trumps motives. I'm English and I saw it coming. Because I watched MTN lol

Don’t underestimate the drastic improvement of Trent’s defensive game under slot, the man is now a solid solid defender and looks comfortable in that role, losing Trent is awful for Liverpool you’ll struggle to find someone who can do what he can do.

Out of the three key players on expiring contracts Salah is the one whom in my mind that will depart the club Fact is this summer we didn't go in for a new CB or RB but we did invest in Chiesa, one way you could interpret that is we want to keep VVD and TAA but Chiesa will either be Salahs long term replacement if he can get kit and perform, or he'll be rotated with a new RW who would come in next season. If this is the case then as well as Salah has performed this season he's too good of a player to let go on a free so if a club approached Liverpool before January then even if he went for a reduced fee it's better to get something for him then let him leave for nothing.

Most of the reports I have seen to this point have said that he’s happy at Liverpool and is interested in signing a new deal. Until he puts pen to paper though it’s fully up in the air

A 4-2-3-1 could work without Salah. Gravenberch and Mac Allister, Diaz/Gakpo, Szoboszlai/Jones, Elliot/Chiesa(if still there), Jota/Nunuez as a 9 (hopefully replace Nunez with Gyokeres)
