I love the statistic that 50% of women 40-45 got pregnant within a year! With all the doom and gloom suggesting that women basically have no chance over 40, this is refreshing.
@mori.kurogawa79364 ай бұрын
Sorry to go back to doom and gloom, but if you consider miscarriage rates and medical abortions due to malformations etc. in pregnancies with eggs of this age, then the numbers aren't so positive any more 😥 IVF with genetic testing before implantation of the embryos might be a better choice for avoiving waste of precious time and lots of heartbreak.

I conceived at 42 (2 months before I turned 43) and it took me 4 months to get pregnant (3 months of trying). The first 3 months I used an app to track ovulation, so I probably wasn't timing it that correctly. The 4th month, I used an ovulation test at home and I got pregnant! My mom had my brother at age 42. I have a very healthy baby boy and had no pregnancy complications at all. I walked the dog the morning I went into labor, haha. Very easy pregnancy. So yeah there is a lot of hope.

Let's not forget about miscarriage too. We conceived at 32 after three cycles and miscarried twice back-to-back. So it actually took us a year to conceive a viable pregnancy.

I appreciate you telling people to check on things at 6 months trying. I feel like so many people think a year is normal, and it's actually a lot less common to take so long, especially if you're younger. I'm hitting the 6 month mark, for me, looking at the data is so heartbreaking... being healthy, young, and having extremely regular cycles. I just hate when people make you feel dramatic about that.."It can take a year." I'm only in my mid 20s.

My question always is what are they counting as “conceive with in the first year” ? I had a chemical pregnancy 8 months ago and nothing since but does that still fall under that statistic? Or are they only counting successful pregnancies?
@lenahanmary3224 ай бұрын
I have the same question! We had a missed miscarriage. Tried for 6 months before that. Now we’re trying again. But cumulatively, it has been a year.
@Nomarcaper4 ай бұрын
@@lenahanmary322 I wonder if it "resets" the clock. Because even if our cycle looks back to normal, there can still be other aspects of our hormones that are trying to balance out.

@@Nomarcaperabsolutely. I wonder if it’s a “reset” of sorts. My symptoms of miscarriage lasted for two months. I had some very hormonal cycles after that. Now on my 4th cycle post symptoms and I feel mostly normal/things appear to be regulating.

@@lenahanmary322 I just had a miscarriage early July and I ovulated almost 2 weeks after the last day of bleeding from it. I was kinda like “uh what? So quickly?” So I’m curious to see if I’ll get pregnant rather quickly. I feel like I should have on “accident” already, but it’s very possibly that my body did ovulate, but other aspects of fertility wasn’t right (like discharge, ph, etc) I follow FAM/NFP.
