Loved the experiment, however I would disagree with you, it is defintely possible to overclamp. Too much clamping pressure can cause the two joint pieces to bow or cup. I’ve seen it happen to my own projects. You only need to clamp tight enough to hold the pieces together.

I’ve learned the error of my way and did the same thing a couple days ago. It’s an art form that I’m enjoying learning.

Would have made sense for all the pieces to be the same size. Obviously bigger surfaces glued together are stronger as well.

Thanks for the demo. Question does the drying/setting time refer to when you should remove the clamps or just when its completely dry. I dont have many clamps so id like to remove the clamps and glue the next set of joints while the other panel completes the 24 hr set time. Obviously im a rookie..

Are those boards solid wood or plywood? Because it makes a huge difference if one surface is end grain. (Not applicable to plywood.

absolutely useless. 5 minutes, 30 minutes and straight to 24 hours? what's the use? the in-between times would be much better to know. 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours
