Jonathan I loved this episode. You came to my church last year and I had no idea who you were but after hearing you sing....I was like I have to follow this young man. That's exactly what I did. every morning I have praise and worship to your music omw to work. I attended you show in Philly this month and it was life changing and an experience I will never forget. Now I get to see the human side of you. You are what this world needs...songs that express how one may really feel but often feel like you can't talk about things because you walk with righteousness. This “normalcy” happens in other arenas as well. I used to be a “first lady”, and ppl would treat me differently than regular members almost like I was the First Lady of the US or something. All the while I’m thinking it’s just me. I eat like y’all, yell at my kids like yall, clean my house just like yall. One time I was checking out at the grocery store and ran into a member and they literally said, “can’t believe you do your own shopping”, blew my mind. I felt like I spent significant time trying to be like everyone else. Oh and maybe the reason others are wary of you is bcuz in a lot of instances you hold the power. If they mess up you could literally can them. I’m introverted too, and it has caused issues in my life. I’ve been called stuck up, conceited, mean, and bougie, and the amount of times I’ve been told by random ppl, usually men, to smile lol. Also been told I have rbf so there’s that.😂

I love the new podcast. This was amazing!! This truly showed the "human" side of you. Also, I love your music from all your albums, so if I met you, yes, I would sing some new and old songs. I felt God brought His music from heaven and blessed you to be the vessel to sing it. When I hear your music, I hear God and that is worth ALL your music being celebrated, even the old. I feel you on that being told to smile situation .....I've always been teased or told how much I smile, so imagine my surprise when a Deacon walks up to me between Sunday School and church service and told me to smile, I look like, I had been stung by a bumble bee....excuse me for walking through a mainly empty sanctuary without a huge smile plastered on my face.....I just got irritated thinking about that again....LOL. I need to let that go.

She said it's about giving glory to God and not seeking the approval of others. However, we're human so we can work on our craft and know that God created us so He makes no mistake.
