This is a deduction from the fact the Eve was not pregnant until after the Fall. Adam and Eve were two healthy married people, who had been commanded while still in Eden to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:22). In a pre-Fall world without suffering and disease, there would have been no blocked fallopian tubes or other defects or deficiencies leading to infertility. It is highly unlikely that Eve would have gone through more than 1-2 fertility cycles at the most without conceiving. However, the first conception recorded is that of Cain, which was after the Fall. Sex within marriage is not a sin. God wanted them to multiply. I certainly would like to think that they made it through for longer than a weekend, but I'm not sure they were there long for the same reason given - They were expelled before the first child was born. It would have been a significant event that would have been notated when Moses wrote about it. Unless that child had eaten of the fruit also, the child would have remained in the garden unless or until he sinned by eating the fruit as well. There is nothing to say that it couldn't have been months, however, or that Adam and Eve were expelled while she was pregnant. But that idea presents its own questions and theological issues because the sin would have happened AFTER the child had been conceived. Not conceived in sin, the child would also have been sinless in this circumstance. But the initial point stands. It wouldn't have been long. Eve was fertile, but it doesn't mean she conceived immediately. But it wouldn't have taken long before she would have become pregnant, so I think his theory has merit.

Here are some supporting Bible verses for what you have shared Matthew 19:4-6 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Here Jesus quotes Genesis, validating the God given foundation for the institution of marriage. Genesis 1:28 "God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” If sex within marriage as God decreed is a sin, then Adam and Eve could not carry out this command until they sinned. In other words, they would have had to disobey God in order to obey God.

I know we can all interpret the days and years as something else, but I truly believe God would not want to mislead us in his word even though it is translation, he would want us to understand it as it reads. Days of creation are 24 hour days as it says "there was evening and morning" meaning a day. And when it comes to how long they were in the Garden, It says "Adam lived a total of 930 years" and also said he lived 130 years before having Seth (I think). And we know they started having children outside of the Garden when they were thrown out. So they were in the Garden no more than 130 years at most. I don't know how quick children grew in the womb back then and I don't know if that should be considered.

The Fall took away the 'blindness' of Adam and Eve concerning the possibility to 'multiply'... They could have lived 'any'time before the Fall. I think the Angels in heaven were very impatient to sée Adam and Eve 'fall', so children could be born and they could come to earth to receive a body...because they were spiritual beings on their way to earth so to say.

Please do not say falsehoods like this. Adam and Eve did not even know they were naked before they sinned. They weren't sitting there ready to have sex because before they sinned, there was no sexuality in their minds. To know you are naked is to understand it's implications. Please retract this!

The Bible says "Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame." Genesis 2:25 In Genesis 1:28, "God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” This command was given before the fall. Sex within the rules set by God (That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:24) is not sinful. If it was, then it would be impossible for Adam and Eve to obey God and increase in number without first disobeying God.

Excellent! You are correct! I never thought about the fact that God's decree to have children came before the fall, and that it restated that they should become as one flesh! Thank you. I am still unsure how they had sex if they couldn't see their nakedness, but that command to have children certainly makes it possible, onlf not probable logically. Well done! @@His-Story.ForHisGlory but that is in Gen 1 and is clearly meant for all animals and plants and in principle also for man. But Eve was not there yet. She came in Gen 2 and the multiple thing was not an issue yet. The concept of naked also not. Nor the pain of delivery was there yet. Those came after the fall. So we don’t know how long and his argument is wishful thinking at best. Long or short it was a foreign concept at that time since they were living in eternal life experience. However if u think of the flow of events it should not have been very long I think.
