Luka doesnt get enough love for his game IQ so this is nice to see. I really hope he gets to play with an elite big man scorer, it would be so much fun to watch. If he could have an amare stoudamire type player to play with...holy shit would it be fun.

I have two questions: 1. What do you see as the ceiling for the Clippers? Finals? 2. (Might be more suited for a video or a longer answer somewhere else) What space and importance do you see the small guard commanding as players at the pro level are getting bigger but also more guard-like in play?

I think Haliburton is the next up in this category of immediate engine for god-tier team offense. He didn’t show as much as bron or Luka as fast, but the kings two best players were small guards, so he didn’t get as many possessions as them. I’m certain he would have though. After the trade to Indy, volume AND efficiency went up. Then last year, he’s a 20p 10a guy, super efficient 62% TS%, and a completely nuts 4 ast/to ratio.

as genius as luka is, the system he’s in isn’t designed for his success at the highest level. he doesn’t need an all star level ball handler to co-pilot the offense as much as he needs key role players who can add dimensions to the overall strengths of the team and who can lock down on the defensive end. that is a winning formula with the offense being quarterbacked by a genius like luka.

One thing I wish you did was not make it seem like overloading as an amazing (or unique to dubs) concept. It doesn’t really work that long in the playoffs against tactical coaches. Would’ve loved to see examples of how Kidd beat prerotating last playoffs with double gapping, flare screens, and cutting. But great work otherwise!

Naah! Yes he’s a good passer but he’s a ball hogger that costs his team a lot of good plays. The rest of the team just stand around and the 5 man tries to do only pnr. Your giving him too much. A lot and i mean a lot of nba players make those passes daily, so it ain’t really that unique or special.
