How Märklin HO Analog AC Locos Change Direction - plus layout updates.

When I was 12 I stayed with a family in Graz, Austria, for two weeks to practice my German. One of the boys of my host family had a Märklin train layout and I remember that relay buzz. It was new to me, having only experienced DC Lima trains untill then. I remember that long lost friend from Austria fondly, we had a great time playing with trains and he gave me a water tower and a couple of buildings for my layout... which I have finally put to good use over 30 years later.

I love my Marklin trains, so much better models than Hornby or Bachmann. If your locos are relatively modern then the blue Marklin controllers aren’t very good for them ( if they have modern electronic reverser in them or are digital)

All my locos are the older analog relay type. But I have been thinking about getting the modern controller. I have no interest in digital.

I have a Marklin coach I can't use is it of use to you? ( I would only want the cost of postage for it)

Thanks but you can change the wheel sets to plastic ones and use it on your DC layout. Some Hornby wheels fit perfect.
