Drew Skeez i don't want to be the guy who is nitpicking but look at the eth chart. eth was around $1 till about february 2016. two months later it was at $10. most people would have sold here already for 10X gain. in june 2016 it reached $21, the ATH for the entire year 2016. again most would have sold. finally, an entire year later in may 2017 eth started exploding and topped out at around $400. it took another 6 months to reach a new ATH. you can say he sold at the ATH. until that time. nobody can predict the future. the guy's a billionaire now, like i said, it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

I am sorry, but when I see the stupid delusional crypto maniacs I just get furious. I can explain as well even though to me it seems so obvious, but it will help my mind get straight and put all my thoughts together. Its a cryptoCURRENCY. Okay so a currency I see... if its +10 000 times more expensive than the dollar then it must be better in every way, right? NO, the only reason bitcoin is better than the US dollar or GBP,EUR,AUD, etc is because it has no middle man and the transactions are much-much easier, BUT if its only better in one way and doesnt serve the purpose that a currency must (1.a medium of exchange that is accepted by the public 2. storage of wealth) [it isnt a medium of exchange because very few places accept it and very few people know how to use it and most have just heard of it over the news and it isnt a storage of wealth, cause the volatility will make any rational investor get away from it]. Okay, maybe its a commodity, thats worth investing into? NO, why on earth would any living human being who has even the slightest ability to think invest and or put his or her money into bitcoin instead of a commodity that has been accept by hundreds of millions of people throughout centuries and has been known to always survive such as gold or silver? Even if it is a commodity (definitely not a currency) it is not worth anything compared to gold and I agree, the technology is pretty cool and could be something very big and new, if the governments dont support it they can literally ban all exchanges and make it illegal to buy and sell bitcoin WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO THEN? Cant you understand that the ONLY WAY bitcoin,eth,ltc and other coins get big is if governments support them, otherwise they are not worth shit and thats why the bubble will burst, only governments can put a stop to this tulip mania II.

When the US government bailed out banks and companies at the expense of the people the game changed. You have people who took huge risks over leveraged and got out while facing no penalties. One of the things about investing is that you kinda have to be pretty skeptical until eventually you are forced to believe. He didn't say it's unstable for the future, he means in the short term, as in a few years or more. As more money pours into this market the shear weight of that influx will stabilize it. Bitcoin is going to be mainly the wealth store of value, while a coin like Litecoin we become the everyday payments coin. Litecoin is quite stable considering this is the volatile stage of the market. Good and very interesting times ahead for sure....

Dawn Hodges Does the "curren" section of the word "currency" have anything to do with the word current? Companies like Bitpay and Coinbase that process payments in Bitcoin peg and guarantee the exchange rate into the dollar for 15 minutes (i.e. they guarantee the current value). Price stability/instability is more about Bitcoin's parallel use as a store of value/investment. It has been the best performing investment for the past two years by incredible margins so any "instability" has been hugely on the upside. Even if someone is living paycheck to paycheck I still recommend they turn part of their paycheck into Bitoin and then buy gift cards for the same purchases they would have made anyway. They get a 3% rebate on the gift card and if they manage to spend just a wee bit less they can start building a savings.

That's true Bruce. The technology increases encryption through cryptography while eliminating the need for security. Bitcoin wallets don't ask for personal information. Most big companies that hold a lot of personal information are starting to consider the blockchain, or at least better encryption techniques, to protect customer information. I personally believe in Bitcoin and the crypto world because I read a lot about the technology and it's very powerful. go about it by investing in a crypto mining company, instead of you going by it yourself, it's better you invest in a mining company that deal on crypto currencies that will mine, trade and reinvest crypto currencies on your behalf. that's how i go about mine, all i do is to fund my wallet and after that i instruct the company to do whatever i want, either trading or mining and it will be handled by the company and when production is due, i wait and cash out which will be sent directly to my wallet or local bank account. these done effortlessly, you can also go about yours the same way. you can access other cryptocurrencies when ever you want through the company

No that doesnt mean you need to own 11 different sectors of the stock market, but YOU NEED to diversify against idiosyncratic risk. You can own 15 different tech companies, and have that as 75% of your portfolio, and still be diversified. Putting 30% of your entire portfolio in apple is a little different than putting it into bitcoin. That means if you have 100 000, and you put 30 000 in bitcoin, thats considered a concentrated investment. very concentrated. Professional mutual funds that are concentrated dont go above 30% ever. Baron fund has 35% in tesla. Bitcoin has specific risks. Its not a company that generates revenues. Its different. Its classified as a type of digital commodity. Look at the price of oil. Commodities are different than stocks. They are crazier and riskier. Dont put all your money into bitcoin, and diversifying across many different Cryptos is NOT DIVERSIFICATION. I repeat. owning 20 different cryptocurrencies is not owning a diversified tech portfolio! Most cryptocurrencies are frauds and legal loopholes that were made by tech nerds to get rich. Bitcoin may be a little different, but still, the guys who first started it knew what was happening, the value of a valueless thing will increase rapidly and exponentially, and they will get filthy rich. Until it collapses because in reality, it has no use.

20:15 Currencies are stable because they use Exchange Stabilization Funds and QE to manipulate the market price. Bitcoin will get more stable as its adopted but it will represent true market value unlike fiat debt notes.

Many (possibly most) blockchains are like ledgers that track the balance of each wallet. So, generally what you invest in is the currency that is tracked on the ledger. This is usually analogous to betting on whether that technology will become successful. However, if you had a personal relationship with one of the businesses developing a platform it's possible you could make an off-chain investment in their future.

no, it's a wallet that you set up, it can't be invested or its a wallet were you keep your cryptocurrency. if you are looking to invest, the best and safest way to go about this is by investing in a company that will mine, trade and reinvest whatever crypto currencies you have for you. that's how i go about mine, all i do is to fund my wallet and after that i instruct the company to do whatever i want, either trading or mining and it will be handled by the company and when production is due and ready, i wait to cash out which will be sent directly to my wallet or local bank account. these done effortlessly, you can also go about yours the same way.
