When talking about his unpopularity she kind of forgot to mention the pension reforms which were a huge sore spot for the French people. Whether it was the right decision or not, the French people hated it and were very angry at Macron especially after he just did it on his own and overrode the parliament.

The Tories are/were going to lose anyway, i think Sunak made that move to secure his position until election comes, or he could have be taken out of the Prime Minister position before it. At the same time, when you are going to lose no matter what you do, better to do it fast, so you can rebuild faster, and not just linger waitting for the end.

The Frace´s far-right has managed to to bring the political debate around themes that widely resonates amongst the French society: uncontrolled immigration, lost of cultural identity, high sense of insecurity and so on. They have been playing like an algorithm; amplifying topics that get people engaged and consuming their ideology, actually that is the Europe and US far-right playbook.

What I don't get is: how do people think these topics are a real concern for them? In my daily life, I don't see immigrants causing any sort of problem. My culture is not affected by any societal group so far as I can do and believe whatever I want. My sense of security is based on statistical information about crime in the area I live in, and there is no significant rise in crime. It seems to me, that the fears connected with these topics are all imaginary, but people don't realize that they are told nothing fairytales and live in fantasy worlds.
