Okay. I'm so glad your channel popped up. I love finding challenge runners I've never seen before. And now I have to watch the DS1 version of this challenge Ooh and I thought of something interesting during this run. Since the firebombs explode on contact and don't seem to be fuse based it's likely their striking system is fulminated mercury. Which doesn't change anything about the run. But does give some fun detail to the fight with the last giant

25:00 In the wake of Dark Souls 2 being a bit more "generic" with its music, I often forget to look up the tracks by themselves because I don't _remember_ any of them. But this section here where you text-commentate on the music piqued my curiosity again, and the first track I checked out was the Dragonrider's theme. Let me just say that just because a song seems "generic" does not by any means indicate a song is bad. This theme rocks, and I'm glad you pointed me in the direction, even if it was just for a throwaway joke about sped-up music.

2 months late but the reason why lightning is effective on Looking Glass Knight is indeed the rain as it applies the 15% weakness. By the same logic he has the additional 30% fire resist, however magic should still out scale his lightning weakness when it comes to raw damage. Great video.

@eleumloycee Жыл бұрын

@thekeeper1287 Жыл бұрын
I do believe heide material is supposed to be brass, or at least a mix of it since the ancient giant sentinels are also in heide (and in other places) so Probably steel and brass mixed together. Heide was supposed to be anor londo 2.0 (lore wise when gwynivere ran off with flann)
@Sad_Mercy11 ай бұрын
@@thekeeper1287 looking at the weapons to me it seems it cant really be brass since the color of the material is way off, and also since the attempts at replicating it produced a new steel type. my guess is maybe its part titanium or something

Prob my favorite soulstuber rn. GGs Eleum, you're doing great for where you're at. In less than 3 months, you've done some of the coolest stuff I've ever seen in DS2, and your patience is on the level of like, Backlogs and other people like that. I could never do a lot of the stuff you've been doing, (cough cough actually beating DS2) even though I'm a veteran with about 2k hours in the series on PC alone. Besides, your style is awesome, and I love just chilling out to your calm tone and slow pace. Top tier, 10/10 second monitor content. I think the only souls challenge runner I don't consider 'second monitor content' is Ymfah, but his editing is nuts and he don't even speak, so he doesn't count. My only complaint is that this channel has not been here for 3 years so I have 40 of your videos to binge, but that ain't your fault. Love your stuff, keep at it, much love from big fan. Take your time prepping your next video, can't wait to see where you go from here.

Since you read the comments, you can get through Frigid Outskirts more easily by timing your runs. Get to the first bunker, use the sun's position to orient yourself, then RUN straight ahead as the snowstorm lifts. One deer will spawn and chase you to the second bunker (with a healing pool), but can more easily be dealt with (or even ignored). Then, using the sun for orientation, run from the big bunker right at the end of the snowstorm, aiming for the left side of the third one which has a soldier inside. Another deer, sometimes two, will spawn and chase you but no more will appear while you take out them and the soldier. Lastly, you can bolt for the bosses using the same method and none of the deer can catch you if you make it to the bridge area.
@eleumloycee Жыл бұрын
I found my problem was trying to ignore the deer instead of just fighting them, and I actually despawned some of them which I didn’t know worked on them!

I really like your videos :) And you've propably checked it yourself but still, in case anyone who reads this is wondering - Emit Force and Wrath of the Gods have different damage type in every game. Magic (same as, say, Soul Arrow) in DS1, lightning in DS2 and physical in DS3. Edit: and a bit of random info - even through Dance of Fire looks dark, it deals purely fire damage. Outcry, on the other hand, actually deals split fire/dark damage, but the dark part is a fixed number that doesn't scale. DS3 has a spell like that as well - Lightning Storm. It deals lightning+fire, but only lightning part scales. And visually it looks like a normal lightning spell. And it's fire damage specifically blocked from causing enemies like Pus of Man to panic (like fire damage normally does). Weird stuff.

My favourite type of challenge runs are themes over difficulty & my favourite restriction is material for sure, I'll have to give this a go sometime in the future. So much fun thinking about what material you could use, the old Knight weapon with their oxidised look was my first thought, was waiting to see if you'd use them, not disappointed. Keep up the good work mate 👍. Also from a casual look, DS3 from my interpretive count has like 50-55 materials, maby 60 pushing it, not that you'll need that meny 😅.

2:49 - My interpretation was originally water, because well, he's the Dragonrider not the Dragonsurfer amirite lads But then as I thought about that, ruminated on the magnitude of this philosophical question about an early game boss from Dark Soul II, it struck me. It is both gravity /and/ water. For, as stated, he is not the Dragonsurfer but the *Dragonrider*, so falling off said dragon and being cradled by the infinite weight of gravity is equally as horrifying for the Dragonrider.
