Ok, so having calculated every points you missed due to having more points when talking to the professor, I have that you have lost about 840 points! Seeing as you needed only 570 points, I think it is easily possible that you can remove machamp from the list of Pokémons. (Calculation hopefully are correct )

Maybe I'm not understanding this conversation correctly, but you don't lose research points for turning in more tasks than needed to get the next star. As you can see in the video, he got the full 950 points (bringing him up to 3640 points) when he got enough for the 3rd star (not 810 (3500 total) points like it sounds like you're saying it should have).

I was having another challenge idea... What's the minimum Pokemon Battles you need in order to beat the main or post-game story? This is defined as sending out a Pokemon to do battle with another Pokemon, of course. There are plenty of required battles, particularly of the various trainers. Wild Pokemon can be stunned with things like mud balls or later sticky globs, and actually the most efficient way to catch them plus this is a Pokedex challenge for some species.

Yeah I think it is safe to say that only the required battles are really needed to win because there are actually some ways around filling your pokedex without battles. Essentially it would be this challenge but opposite. Instead of fainting a bunch of pokemon he would catch a ton of them

Challenge idea: do the minimum amount of tasks required to beat the game since there's tasks for double, including amount of work to get those tasks done (for example: only doing the first part of a task, like only catching 1 pokemon)

Couple of challenge ideas I’ve thought of: Hardcore Nuzlocke: No HUD, No save scumming, any deaths are permanent, battle every noble pokemon with your team, level cap Or Try to beat pokemon legends without dodging (not sure if this ones possible) OR Try to beat pokemon legends arceus without ride pokemon (using glitches, you should be able to do everything aside from get ontop of the icepeak in alabaster icelands

Fairly sure Avalugg would do too much damage from it's icicle toss to tank it all out, and fairly sure that cannot be avoided without dodging... Also can you cross the sea with glitches?

@@sinteleon yea, theres a glitch where you can walk on top of bibarels/any pokemon that can swim and effectively create a bridge. Braviary’s flying to reach the peak of the ice mound is the only required ride pokemon i believe.

Considering DPad's whole team ended up being about 10 levels higher than you-know-who's team, it probably wouldn't be challenging enough to bother with.

@@Lar_me I was 10 levels above em and i still had to spam Revives.. Granted it was so my entire Team could get EXP.. But either way if i didnt spam Items i wouldve been smoked.. @@brycenumbergenerator7673 Well, what I mean is that DPad's challenge run wouldn't make the fight much different from a regular playthrough. Overleveling actually does almost nothing in this game since the damage formula was tweaked.

To get the secondary ending (the third ending would literally require 1 of each Pokémon (granted it could be lowered a bit by always only catching the first evolution and evolving when possible. Also shaymin, darkrai, manaphy and phione aren't required)) we would end up also getting: Uxie, Mespirit, Azelf, Heatran, Regigigas, Creselia. And that's all. Granted could be interesting to see how much is needed for third ending but that's more of a math problem.

Okay so by my experience, you need to Catch every Pokemon ONCE to get to Arkoos (you can Also evolve them). Plus, shaymin, darkrai, manaphy and phione aren't required, since they are mythicals.

Not true. Evolving also counts as meeting every mon, so you can have 1 catch per full evolution line. Also technically you don't catch God to meet God.

Also this would be even more tedious but: Getting the shiny charm in as few captures as possible. Getting to Arceus would require 1 of each BASE evolution so a decent amount but not crazy given you jsut need them registered. But lvl 10 for shiny charm would need lot of planning and some pokemon likely will need a second capture or specific size/alpha/method of capture to min/max points

I think from the Arceus requirement, the only additional catches required would be all 28 unknown, as that is literally the only task in their dex entry. Everything else should be achievable from a single base form catch, eventually evolved into each final evolution. Pretty sure Shaymin and Darkrai are not required for Arceus or shiny charm, but I don't know about Manaphy and Phione. By my count (could be off by a little), Arceus would require 122 if Manaphy and Phione are required, or 120 if they're not (including the Arceus). Shiny charm would thus require 149 or 147.

I actually had a really weird idea, can you beat legends arceus without walking? (Or else how many times do you have to) Because for basic movement you can simply aim pokeballs or go first person and then roll, only problems would be moments where that is disabled. Honestly I'm just curious.

The Shinx you have to catch as part of Cyllene's trial is programmed to automatically aggro on you for tutorial's sake. So you can't even make it past the start of the game without sparking a debate on whether or not this instance should count :P

I just caught every Pokemon I encountered until my team was at a decent level THEN I started knocking them out. I was rank 4 before I took on Kleavor and that happened in maybe 4 hours. There has to be a way to streamline these point accumulating methods.

Well, catching more Pokemon means you're gonna cash in more, if not ALL of the research tasks you naturally complete through battling and exploring.

Probably wouldn't have made much of a difference, but you could have gotten one extra task on some of the Pokemon by catching an alpha version. For example, catching an alpha Rhyhorn would have not only guaranteed the size task, but would also have given you the "Number of alpha specimens caught" task on Rhyperior, once you evolved it. I believe most final evolutions have this, so that would have been an extra task on each pokemon caught in an area after the noble is quelled (the requirement for random alphas). This does, however, rule out your starter, the three tutorial catches, and the Duskull, who had to be caught before completing the area. So it would really have only gotten you three more tasks, for the Rhyperior, Infernape, and Machamp.
