I do 2 aswell in union, custom houses I do 3 or depends who I’m doing it for

I totally agree but you have a nail spotter I striped the first coat and use my nail spotter for the second coat first coat right out of the box I mix the mud in the box with my paddle before I use it then nail spotter and sand so both coats get striped less edges😎👍👑🇨🇦

I know many people do it many different ways and I’ve seen quite a few. I think screws are less noticeable when it’s sanded down to where there’s no more mud left on the board but just in the screw hole. It’s a lot less noticeable than some who 3 or 4 coat them and try to leave a feathered edge patch but that’s just my experience

That's my experiences too, 3 or more coats sanded smooth seems to show through the finish paint sometimes. Especially a wall with lots of natural light, can see the stripes. 2 coats sanded down to the board finishes better imo.
